Interesting the language, “Roland and I have decided”, not “I have decided.”

He used to use 'we' a lot when married to his first wife. I recall years ago him talking about not wanting to stick around if he didn't feel he was competitive enough.

I think for a lot of people Lowndes represents the last driver from their childhood growing up in the 90s, regularly mixing it with the likes of Brock and Johnson.

Todd Hazelwood drove with a dislocated shoulder yesterday, unreal

Another demolition by the RBRA team. A 9 second gap back to Scott in 3rd was incredible, after the safety car late on.

I find it very hard to like the Giz. Whincup has grown on me over the years, Shane hasn’t.

Very much the same here, even when Shane was at SBR he was just hard to like him

There’s alot of tall poppy syndrome when it comes to Whincup. I remember taking a long time to warm to him as well. I didn’t have a legitimate reason for disliking him besides the fact he won so much and he wasn’t my favourite driver.
He hasn't always been the best with fans either, used to come across quite aloof, but has gotten much better over the years.

I think this is a big part of it. Can’t speak of any personal experiences but he always seemed arrogant to me. Over the last 5 years or so, I’ve actually watched him without any prejudice and he seems like a genuinely good guy. There was that thing with his almost marriage but outside of that, you can’t really say he’s put a foot wrong.
