Samuel Wright - denied. Injuries played a part, but age (30 next year), fringe position in the team and contract status had a greater impact on his decision. Wright was likely told there was no position for him in 2020. Particularly telling was that he was playing VFL right up to the end.

Ryan Schoenmakers - denied. Similar to Wright above but a bit more borderline. Turns 30 next year and uncontracted for 2020. The timing of his retirement announcement suggests he was being delisted by the club anyway. If he'd announced his retirement mid-year or was contracted for 2020 then I'd have been much more inclined to grant the 50% discount.

Both players are eligible for 25% discount.
