AFL 2019 Brownlow Medal (after the result bets will get a ban)

Definitely due for a draw. It's been sixteen years since we last had one (2003). There was also a draw sixteen years before that (1987).

It has also been seven years since the last controversial draw (2012).

The last controversial draw before that was also seven years since the last non controversial draw (1996).

Basically I'm talking a lot of useless crap and I don't actually know if we'll have a draw but the stars are alligning, so flock it. I'm in for the draw.

The other day I posted that Daniel Gorringe has put in some weird stakes on Ward to win the Brownlow. Why hasn't it been eaten up yet? I don't get it. People just don't want to tie themselves up for six weeks? Only thing I can think of, but it's free money.
Standard. Australia keeping up its fine tradition of being allergic to Betfair.

The votes will be very hard to split from last night. It was a fairly dour game however there were some very good performers.

Grundy will get the 3 almost 100%

Anybody who saw the game know that know that McDonald-Tipungwuti was Essendon's best by miles and he torched the Magpies midfield by foot all night. He was involved in 10 of Essendon's 15 scores, kicked two goals on his own, had 14 contested possessions and five inside 50's. Given Essendon were in the game all night, I'd be pretty shocked if he didn't poll.

Pendlebury and Adams were both fantastic for the Pies. I thought Adams was better because of his terrific use by foot but Pendlebury when on song is more noticeable, and I reckon the umps might sway in his favour.

Treloar had another 35 and after a poor first quarter and a half, really picked up and finished with the most inside 50's and most metres gained on the ground. Misses in my count but the umpires could look in his direction. For Essendon, Conor McKenna also had 35 including 27 kicks but as a person at the game I didn't feel he had as big an impact as his stats suggest and so I don't think he should poll.

Elliott (16 kicks, 9 marks, 3.4), Mihocek (10 kicks, 4 marks, 4.1) and McKernan (13 kicks, 12 marks, 2.1) were all X-factors at their ends of the ground and could feature, meanwhile Chris Mayne had 31 disposals at 90% efficiency in defence.

-----------

My prediction:

3: Grundy
2: McDonald-Tipungwuti
1: Pendlebury

Thinking similar but will probably switch 1 and 2, Pendlebury was very noticeable, definitely polls I think. How do you have the pies count looking? I have Treloar on 18, 1 ahead of Grundy and 3 ahead of Pendles.

3. grundy
2. pendles
1. treloar, mckernan, maybe elliot

not happy if votes go to tippa. hoping umps are better than that.

I am set to have Treloar 19, Pendlebury 17 and Grundy 17

may be an overreaction to have danger at $2.35 already.

Fyfes odds dont drift out though danger shortened by over $1.

Who got the votes in the roos game today? is higgins 2-3?

Gawn was outstanding. I'd expect him to get the three. Higgins probably the two and maybe Ziebell 1.

danger dropped to $2.35 at the 10min mark of Q2. stupid and overreaction. if fyfe had already played and not looked like polling then maybe understandable

Team votes get real interesting at a few clubs now. Worpel will not poll tonight at Hawks, but O'Meara right among it. North Melb, Melb, Syd get to the wire. Witts a chance to throw the Suns votes right open with a dominant display (20 disposals, 69 hitouts, 5 frees), albeit in a big loss where J Cameron the certain 3.
