Hopefully not this week.

Nah, can be this week.

Bolton can go in for the half time address, walk out with the Blues trilling by 10 goals, get his tricycle and go home.

Will be slightly earlier than a week since this result.

Theres lots of negative stuff in here particularly on the game threads. So here’s some positives and some perspective:

Preseason most people had us 2-7 at this point. We’re 4-5 and if not for bad kicking in Perth we’d be 5-4.
Speaking of bad kicking it let us down against Adelaide and Collingwood. Both those games scoreboard pressure early in the game when we were on top could’ve had a different result.

We’ve also been decimated by injury. 6 best 18 players (Roberton, Hannebery, Carlisle, Lonie, Geary & Steven) have spent most of the season on the sidelines. At least 3 of them should be back post bye. Who knows when Steven might return?
To perform like we have without those players has been extraordinary. We’ve been a chance in every game we’ve lost.
The other silver lining is unearthing a couple of players. If Roberton and Carlisle were playing we may have never known how good Wilkie could be. Geary out has given Paton a good run at it and he looks to be a player. If Lonie was still playing Long probably wouldn’t have been which meant we’d be unlikely to see Young debut. Who i thought was fantastic against Collingwood.

Our 3 top 10 draft picks over the last 2 years we’re in the top 4 best for Sandy. One of them playing his 2nd game in 12 months. The other 2 just don’t quite have the tank or body size for AFL level....yet. It will come over the next 2-3 years. Both have the attributes that we desperately need - elite skills and decision making.
We’re too quick these days to write off players if they don’t do anything of substance in their first 2 years. 2nd year blues isn’t a myth. Coffield and Clark will be 150 game players. Give them time. Not all players are Judd, Selwood, Rioli, Cripps, Oliver or Walsh who can have immediate impact.
BJ was the whipping boy for a long time but he became a beauty. Tom Lynch couldn’t get near it in his 3 years with us but he’s now a very good player.

There’s improvement from a lot of players. Who would’ve thought 12 months ago Lonie would be our barometer? Marshall is showing a lot for 20 game player, Billings has stepped up. Dunstan for all his limitations has the heart the size of pharlap. Wish more players played with his desire. Parker lights it up, just needs to hit the scoreboard more. Hasn’t even played 10 games and teams are already putting work into him.

Trading out our current best 22 players would be a huge mistake. They will be the depth players we need putting pressure on the senior guys. It will make us stronger in the long run.

It’s frustrating that we don’t have a handful of flags to fall back on. But we are an underdog. Always have been and always will be. That will make our next flag all the sweeter, whenever it comes

get behind us over the next 13 games. Our draw opens up, the cavalry will arrive and finals is a real possibility if we want it. The effort we have shown so far tells me we want it. The skills just need to sharpen up and we need reward on the scoreboard for effort.

So with the re-election of the Government on the weekend, I suppose that places the $20mill promised to Hawthorn by the ALP for their $135mill Dingley development somewhat in the doubtful category.
Pity.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer club.....
Was that a federal promise? I thought sporting clubs were generally more the domain of state level.

All he needs to do is find someone with broken bones and shoulder barge them to make himself feel better.

Correct call for North though, been bog average for the best part of 15 years so something needs to give somewhere.

We at least have "we're shit" to fall back on and actually making GF's as "good" whereas they have what, top 4 and mostly change?

Just watched the highlights of Pies getting over the Swans.

Seemed like a tight game, until the Q4 highlights where Brown (a Pie) tries out for the Commonwealth Games 200m sprint team (non-bouncing ball in hand) culminating in a goal, then a 50m penalty a few mins later because someone was 4cm over the mark, culminating in a goal.

Pies kissed on the dick again?

Lucky on not getting called up for running too far but he 50m against Rampe had to be paid.

BT called Aliir Aliir 'Majak Daw' last night. Bloody embarrassing. How is this guy still commentating?

nah, more of the same of the ump forming an opinion and it magically being correct as soon as they do that the fraternity love.

Surprised they're only planning to remove the centre bounce and not turn the sport into NFL or a crapshoot of rugby.

Why is the media linking Brad Scot to Saint Kilda?.? Why would we want more of the same? can someone explain why we would even contemplate this?

Listing clubs that may be looking for a new coach at seasons end, and given our track record in jumping at ghosts in this department, I had no real issue with it despite there being no real noises on that front that i've seen and it's all generally supporter driven nonsense.
