All these ppl with strong midfield are going to be tearing their hair out with these forward rooks. I'm going 3 premiums in the mids to cater this
Guess you gotta suffer somewhere but that's why some of us with strong mids have gone mid price fwd, because the rookies just aren't there.
My fwds, mids & defence line was stronger without Gawn so I may still change.
I just think back to last year how long it took me to go Lycett to Grundy because, naturally with 8 mids there's 8 potential problems, odds greater you'll have more issues.

Is Jamie Elliot worth the extra 200K over a 170K rookie in the forward line for scoring. His JLT scores probably don’t reflect that it is. I just don’t think we have much choice for the F4,5,6.

It's his injury history that bothers me. I hate holding brittle players.
I had him but felt Newnes was a bit safer (and more expensive) but even at a similar price,
Zac Bailey (Bris) is on the up.

I can only see 10 keepers in this team, the rest will require upgrades at some stage.

I can't really squeeze any more though.
Not enough fwd rookies to bother downgrading Newnes/Worpel in a 1 up 1 down
I'm not set on Sheed it's just a value for $ pick like Brouch, so could pinch cash there
FWIW, I can only see 9 keepers unless Brouch fires.

I've locked in 5/6 defenders. It's D2 that's causing me a bit of a headache. Lloyd is my D1, I can afford any other defender aside from Laird for the D2 spot.

I had Whitfield in there, but there's a lot of talk about him moving up the ground which has put me off him.

I've also got Smith (D3), Williams (D4), Duursma (D5) and Clark (D6).

Any suggestions? I'm strongly considering Simpson at this point. Consistent, durable and proven scorer. He's going to be a top 6 defender or thereabouts in my opinion.

Crisp or Witherden then?

Jamie Elliot or Jack Higgins for F4?
Higgins could be a great pick, I'm not aware of his jnr numbers but it's been said he was a gun.

I personally don't trust Whitfield to begin with, this talk of him going forward just adds to that. I've gone Witho, think he has the most upside.

The only must have so far this year is Walsh and to a lesser extent Danger. imo

Everyone else is interchangeable with someone else at the same price or close to it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how opposition teams treat Walsh... I can't see any favours being given.

Not at all worried. Theres no well in hell gws are going to put a player like whitfield up forward. maybe the odd minute or two. more minutes on ball may mean more tackles who knows.

I think we can all feel a bit better about the Dogs and their roles moving forward (no pun intended) -

Looks like the rotating forwards should be:

Bont
Wallis
McLean
Hunter (at half forward though)

Looks pretty good for Macrae, Lib and Dunks, especially this line:

"The move comes as Tom Liberatore returns from injury, Josh Dunkley takes on greater responsibility and No.6 draft pick Bailey Smith emerges as a midfield talent."
