So who's it gonna be? Gus Brayshaw, Cogs, Merrett, Ross, Adams, Treloar, M.Crouch, Taranto, Steele?
Like for like in-out mids that are down the tag pecking order and spend 85+% TOG are Cogs and Ross.

Brayshaw, M Crouch and Zerrett score as, if not more quickly, but spend less time on ground (mid to high 70%).

Treloar and J Kelly are more likely to be tagged, but capable of pushing mid 80% TOG (both down last year because of injury).

Cripps and Oliver both beasts; Oliver with significant potential to improve through increased TOG (83% compared to Cripps 89%).

Of these I’m currently rolling with Treloar, Brayshaw and Crouch. I can’t quite afford Ross, but am keen.

I won't have him. He should be tagged; if he is, they'll stop him no probs. Same as Selwood, Zorko and Sloane. Great scorers but not worth the risk
I reckon round 1 hasn't come soon enough and we're overthinking it. Since post bye, and including the whole preseason, he has been locked and looked the goods. Ticks all the boxes.

I'm not going to let a possibility of a tag scare me off

I agree wholeheartedly with the feelings surrounding Angus Brayshaw. I mean really, he has only had what 3/4 of a year with proven good scoring? As we saw last year with Phillips tagging him that one time, he is still capable of a bad score. And uh, he just doesn't quite yet have the name of these other superstars like Beams, Gibbs, Sidebottom who have had proven fantasy scoring for years. To top it off, he has had a history of concussion and may be susceptible to a very low injury affected score early in the year. Based on the above points, I think he is quite a risky starter.

Almost tempted to stop reading this thread, now even Brayshaw is being talked down. Am now waiting for the Matt Crouch discussion. They have both been in my team the whole time.
I reckon everyone who has had bray from the start may as well keep him and see what happens. I don't think anyone should be jumping on now though due to the many risks talked about above

It scared everyone off Sloane in half a season.
I wouldn't mind Sloane as a POD (cheap enough risk) but can't have everyone.
Sloane is stupidly cheap. I keep toying with the idea of starting him. Pretty sure he has like 8 of the first 13 games or something at AO. He scores big at AO too. Really tempting. But there’s so much perceived value in the mids alredy, and like you said, can’t have everyone

Yeah I just hate the doubt that creeps into my mind everytime I read someone's argument on why certain players might disappoint/under perform. Do need to squeeze someone out though to fit Taranto back in..

Yeah I'm kinda stuck with having Bray in my team...hopefully he can surprise with a 105 average but not expecting much. I can understand why people are jumping off him and I wholeheartedly support them.

He's as good as locked into my team, yes he may get tagged but I've never really used that as a reason to put me off players and he has already proven that his ceiling is massive. He did manage 105 last year with 5 scores of 80 or less, just saying...

... I’m more surprised by the complete love for Taranto, yes he had a solid jLT but that was without the giants main midfield. Don’t think he will be going at 105-110 that some expect or take as a definite.

I can see the potential, but like you say, would prefer to see him in the full GWS midfield before pulling the trigger at his price.

I think Taranto is a relatively safe pick. Tackling machine with a guarantee to have at least some extra midfield time due to Shiel's departure. Plus the natural improvement from 2nd -> 3rd year in the system...will average close to 105 I reckon. Is that enough to justify his selection? I'm leaning towards yes.

It's still bullshit that he wasn't given fwd eligibility....

With Brd back, what impact will it have in Matt...pperhaps more time resting forward...

This 1000x over. Backing in my side now. I've said it before but it's gone unchanged for a couple days now.

Would be a bit wary of MCrouch though...;)

Agree...taranto or zerrett for me...or Oliver/Cripps/Cogs/Jelly/...
