I could be wrong, but I would have thought that Rance's spot in the side wouldn't affect Balta at all considering one plays KPD and the other pinch hits in the ruck but is predominately a third tall up forward. But have seen a lot of people saying Rance going down helps out Balta, so maybe I'm missing something

I hope they try him down back. He can't do much worse as a defender, surely?

He's mature age...interesting. Will see how he goes this week, but could be who they're looking to replace Roberton with?

"Wilkie was selected by St Kilda with pick No. 3 in the 2018 AFL Rookie Draft.

The 22-year-old starred for North Adelaide as an intercept defender last season, clinching the club’s best and fairest award and playing a key role in helping the Roosters secure the 2018 SANFL premiership.

Much like fellow interceptor Jimmy Webster, Wilkie is adept at reading the flight of the ball and is similarly armed with an elite kick.

With four years of senior experience in the SANFL system, the athletic defender will add a great deal of experience and talent to the Saints’ defensive stocks."

He's in for me for parker, burgess swings forward.

Seriously looked at Perryman as an option, but can't see him scoring more than 10-15 more than Ridley/the the rookies who might be in his place for 60-150K less. He's definitely worth a look and has excellent JS (will probably play even when Ward and Jelly return), but don't know about that price point. Would have to see him in Round 1 to see if it's worth it
I see massive upside in him also.
Trying to squeeze him in is the hard part with Williams and Smith already around that price range.
The upside in him looks great, but the main thing for me is his job security. According to the GWS board, it looks like he has a pretty secure spot in the side, especially after a good JLT series. They expect him to play predominately midfield with stints at HBF. The other options I am contemplating are Ridley & Scrimshaw at D4 (Scrimshaw would be D6). Job security in a spot like that seems so important with a generally risky structure. Might be slower cash gain but may not need to upgrade that spot as quickly. I can see both Ridley and Scrimshaw being dropped after a poor game. This is what has me swaying towards him over those blokes. Will be an easy trade down if he stinks it up as well I suppose. Not sure I have the balls to go through with it though

Call me crazy, but Perryman is tempting me. Priced under 400k as a defender. GWS board has him playing mostly midfield. Ward still 5 odd weeks away and even then is a different player. With talk of Whitfield playing HBF/HF/Wing, Perryman could see extended minutes on the wing/through the middle. Price and his ppm in JLT is what is making him tempting. Thoughts?

It's him or Ridley for me at the moment but Ridley's JS worries me with both Gleeson and Redman ahead of schedule

Dont pay the Perryman, until he gets you to the other side!

Sam Walsh

Didn't think he'd go 87. Was expecting 60-70 and using the tooserious predictor, a 70 average until his bye only makes ~100k.

But I may need to rethink it, from what I saw he was mostly running around by himself just gathering kicks. Reminded me a bit of Gaff/Sidey.

Missed out on Balta - not that he went big - but what are the other 170k forward rookies that could be decent? Already have Petruccelle, Willem Drew and M Parker.

Another defender would also work as I have Burgess in the backline. My other 170k in the back line is Hore and I have Scrimshaw and Duursma on the field.

Was looking at maybe Brander, but I doubt he has any job security at all.

when the saints say they didnt realise how bad Hanners was... leaves me thinking i'll pass.

Archie Smith not playing has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I already had a little bit of cash in the kitty so once I dumped him for a 170k ruck on the bench and swung a few very minor changes elsewhere I suddenly had the cash to turn Cousins into Steele o_O

Disappointing to be missing out on a player priced at 45 who could easily go 80+ but my midfield suddenly looks amazing with B.Crouch all the way down at M6.

Really curious how these Geelong players will go. .

Who has the highest JS of Clark constable Atkins. I'm debating which 2 of constable Atkins and b Scott to take.

Currently going with Scott and Atkins for no particular reason.

One last dilemma. Rocky or Taranto.. If you’re not starting with Rocky and he fires there’s not really many options to get him in next week unless it’s a downgrade.. But Taranto seems the safer pick

Currently rocking with both but if I had to choose one I'd go with Taranto. Every chance he goes into full breakout mode this year IMO. Maybe I'm being bullish but I fully expect him to become a keeper not an upgrade.
