was driving in reflecting on what i wrote yesterday. i want to apologize. i don't want to be seen as dancing on the grave of someones career. someone losing their livelihood is incredibly serious. no one wants to go through that. beyond death its probably next worst thing we all fear! i couldn't think of anything worse than not being able to provide for my family. it was not my intention at all. god forbid paddy's family or friends read it and take it that way! i don't want to be seen in that light!

hopefully it's a minor scare, he's fit, healthy and he goes onto playing another 150 games and kicking a bunch of goals!
Sometimes its difficult to discuss in a non connected way when discussing recruiting. I don't think you were purposely being harsh on Paddy, it probably got lost in translation.

I wanted Petracca over Paddy, now Paddy looks like a no.1 injury bust.

That can't be helped, shit happens, and as I posted earlier more to life than footy. If he retires, it may seem like a wasted pick, but you know Robbo and Membrey DFA's, so it evens out.

Oh and Petracca is just a player and way behind Brayshaw and DeGoey anyway.

Would we be waiting on Robbos availability before using a pick tomorrow. I relise it will be for Bytel but will this decision hinge on that outcome?

I would expect the reason they have grabbed Marsh is for insurance for Roberton , we get a injury to Joyce and having Clavarino , Carlisle out will be only left with Austin , White and Wilkie capable of filling a key back position

Really not sure what test result they are waiting on for Roberton. Most cardiovascular investigations should be done by now, especially since I presume the club would be paying for them privately.

I would think it's getting a cardiologist to look at the data and give an all clear. Usually it takes weeks to even get a consultation with a medical specialist.

I'm surprised it's taking so long. Normally you'd expect results within 24-72 hours for that sort of thing.
The health system is very responsive if you have $$$, not so efficient unfortunately if you don't.

I had a heart issue and was pretty happy with the way the public system dealt with it.

Not saying this is the case. But sometimes the decisions about a players future have a lot to do with what’s best for their families. It would be incredibly hard for his wife to watch him go through this with I think 3 maybe 4 very young kids

Yes this is what I am thinking as well. I'd suspect he has the info by now.

Happy to hear it. I work within public hospitals and we desperately need what most people want really...more time and more money.

Gringo , I live in Thailand and my wife heart skips a beat every once and a while , we checked it out with a device attached to her for a week.
After the week , when it was removed the specialist gave us his prognosis after a few hours , I know Robos complaint is far more complicated but it shouldn't take more than a couple days.

Talking about this point , I had a problem with my wrist - from chopping down trees - from jarring
I thought I would check it out in Perth because I was going to Perth for 2 weeks.
Well when I rocked up in Perth after a couple days I went to the local quack - one that I had seen in the past - this time I had to book to see him - earliest was 2 days so I waited , after seeing him for 10mins he sent me to a specialist , 4 day waiting list , so I waited , went to see him and after 10mins booked me in for a ultra -sound , booking took one week - so couldn't go.
Joke
So when I got back to Bangkok , I went to Samitivej which is where I take my wife and I have been before for medial check ups for work. (Top class hospital - usually full of Saudis etc coming from overseas for treatments)
Went in at 8.00 with no appointment saw our doctor at 9.00 sent me to the specialist which was the next floor up - sent me straight away to have a MRI / 2 floors down - came back after lunch and the specialist told us the outcome.
A few points here - why didn't he give me a ultra-sound like the specialist in Perth to us , was it just a rip off - no
Basically it was to see if the bone had any blood in it - the reason for the MRI - and after viewing it was showing exactly that.

Why is the medical system in Aussie so drawn out now - it' just bulls//t
Something that I couldn't get done in 2 weeks in Perth took me 1/2 a day in Bangkok.
Cost 320AUD for MRI , 250 AUD for consultantion and medication.

True was more so referring the fact we hadnt signed Marsh yet given he passed a medical( hypo)

$320AUD is pretty good money for Thailand.
Let me know how the free health care for the masses is going there. Not the (Top class hospital - usually full of Saudis etc coming from overseas for treatments).

In such a place, the service staff are getting paid chicken feed. A GP probably makes AU$30 000.

Yes we know you can live like a king there. Congratulations.

Apparently they have great back specialists.

You should fly over and have that massive chip removed from your shoulder.

Settle down VSD , you're probably one of those who supports artificial ( legislated) increase of the minimum wage then complains about how much cheaper stuff is overseas. :p

Just pointing out its not fair to compare the Australian free health care with overseas private facilities.
Going by the description it seems the Thailand example was private.
The old man got a knee chucked in pretty quickly in a local private hospital. Public, he'd still be waiting.
