I suppose it's the traditional struggle - being extremely accomodating for trades yet getting no consideration in return. I still think 47 gets it done eventually but I agree they'll probably try and beat their chest about Pick 30 and cause us headaches. Nah as TD mentioned above I think this is where the Jordan Lewis goodwill comes full circle. Kind of an IOU in lieu.

People seem to forget that the existing players at Hawthorn are watching and waiting for their turn of the pie. If you set bad precedents you will pay for it in the nxt 3-5 years whihc can set you back even further. And don't forget with the ever changing AFL rules of player movement, HQ are just as likely to announce next week that free agency will be after 6 years from next year. We would be in a good position if we have looked after our contracts properly.
The same thing happened with the clubs that rushed to Etihad with the promises of gold. However, it takes real management nous to know when to run with the pack and when not to follow the herd.

I am totally okay with the Hawks not overpaying/over contracting players that do not deserve it.

Anyone taking note of what Grundy is doing to the Pies after that club‘s recent binging on all sorts of (mostly overpaid) imports.

All Frost needs to do is be dependable and solid each week. As has been mentioned loves the competitiveness of playing footy and wears his heart on his sleeve. You can tell he wants to get the best out of himself and he will bring this attitude to us. Has a point to prove as the Demons clearly don't rate him high enough to see him as a required player. Could literally play on most forwards in the league except the brutes because of his height and athleticism. How anyone can see this as anything other than astute recruiting hasn't been watching Richmond often enough.

Totally agree. Frost also only 25 years old, and yet to play 100 games. We'll probably pay again a 3rd round pick, and we have role-playing KPD for 6-7 years. Easy decision.

27 next year

Just turned 26. We were 1 point of Collingwood as the 2nd best defence this year. Frost as our 2nd key tall makes us even stronger in defence with a better balanced back 6. His much maligned kicking deficiencies aren’t that bad, more an issue with trying to kick at top speed which is bloody difficult. Most importantly is super quick which is critical in modern day football with smaller speedier forward lines. Next years 2nd should get it done?
