I watched on at the 2km time trial with Maddocker.

The boys look fit. Logue running perfectly and must be 100% over his foot injury.

Jesse Hogan walking laps and looks trim. Looking forward to see him in full swing later this preseason. He gave us the thumbs up when walking past and looked in good spirits. Hopefully his recovery is going well.

Walters needs to be in leadership group. He is the only non 1 to 4 year player churning out running to the side of them and looks in ripping shape.

Belly was on the fence watching on too. Maybe he wanted to join in...

No Cerra still. I'll start the rumour file. He has been given permission to train over in Melb this pre season.

Why was Thurston Moore at Cockburn?

Giro needs to have elite endurance and speed to make it at AFL level at his size, and then it still isn't a sure thing if his skills and decision making aren't up to scratch.

It's the difference between Billy Hartung and Bradley Hill.
I've watched a few replays of his earlier games (as you probably have too) and I thought his kicking and decision-making were ok for his first few games, then declined when he started to fatigue. I felt the same with Crowden

Who was at the tail end of the 2km?
Not sure of the order but pretty sure Darcy, Meek, Crowden, Nyhuis, Duman, Ryan, Jones, Cox, Banfield, North all ran it as well.

No Cerra as others have said. Did anyone see Tucker? Was kind of hoping he'd sneak into top 5 placings but not sure he ran.

Ok here's my attempt.

Firstly, nice to meet you JMT, good to have a chat.

Rocked up and caught the last half of the time trial. Lots of boys look in good nick with their running but that lead group of 6 was impressive. Giro killed it which is nice but to see Brayshaw, Switta, Hughes, Blakely up there all great sign. Was personally most excited to see big Logue near the front. The guy is huge up close. Darcy wasn't a speed demon but finished the run strong, looks in good shape. Big Jones finished last but pushed through ok. SonSon was parked up on the sideline giving the boys encouragement and pushing them as they came around which was nice to see. Bell perched up along the fence keeping a close eye also.

From there boys broke up and did some kick to kick drills. Won't be news to anyone but Ryan has a ripper kick on him. He was closest to us and I didn't see him miss Apeness once. Really great pick up. No one really stood out in particular and there was the odd flour bag but skills looked good in general from what I saw.

Next the boys split into groups and did that keepy off drill with 1 player in the middle wearing the yellow vest trying to get the ball while the 4 others handball around. Again, in general the skills looked pretty good. Logue is a monster in the middle on this drill and closes space really well. Might just be in my head but Brayshaw looked a bit tentative with contact. His skills where good handballing around but seemed to hold back a bit on contact which probably isn't too surprising given he's still having work done to his teeth etc. I don't think it's a mental thing for what it's worth and am certain he'll be hard at it by round 1.

Boys then split into bigger packs kicking to leads etc. One passage of play, Banfield burst out of the blocks with great speed and marked the ball really well and high. Stood out how quick he shot off and how high he jumped. Generally skills looked good again.

That's about it. Boys went in, Darcy hung around outside with Hale practicing contested marking with Roger kicking high balls to them which was nice to see, he looked to be doing well. Hogan came out and was walking laps with a trainer. He didn't seem to have any noticeable limp or anything and gave a wave to the on lookers so hopefully travelling well and on track with his recovery.

Walters was doing run throughs for most of the training session goal to goal. Not sure how many laps he pumped out but was a lot, he looked in good nick and ready for a big year.

Coffee was alright, Mrs and kid had fun in the pool. /end.

Did anyone see Tucker? Was kind of hoping he'd sneak into top 5 placings but not sure he ran.

He popped out late on Monday and had a short kick around but wasn't sighted today. Apparently his foot was broken in the last game against Collingwood so I'd assume he is still recovering from that.

Where did cox finish in the TT?

I popped down after and noticed he was pulled off ball duties and doing extra running. My guess was that he is under done.
