Do you ever read a thread and think "this is all some elaborate joke which I'm clearly a) not in on or b) not smart enough to comprehend? There are clearly some kind of shenanigans going on here which have me completely baffled.

Not really anything to fall out of... the award was just steering back in the right direction and one of the main vote getters renders most of the last fortnight moot by withdrawing. It just means everybody has to redo their votes and Choppy is essentially back to ground zero. I don't care who you are, it's got to get called out, especially when you try and sell it as some honourable or positive action. As one of the mods observing an "as-close-to-official-thread-as-can-make" those are calls that sometimes have to be made. It's not a good look when something honouring the posters of this forum after a hard year is topped with asterisks, least of all when somebody independent is contributing not only time but have a financial investment. Anything after that (the 115 posters for example) is just banter.

On the flip side however it does give us some future direction in future POTY's and every hurdle we've crossed here will be remedied next time including poster eligibility, set rules and deadlines.

I think it would be an excellent idea for ChoppyGun to tag in the posters that need to amend their votes based on eligibility and also re-affirm those to exclude.

You were actually leading it but have now been ruled ineligible due to using an unlicensed digitally enhanced avatar image.

You're going to need to go back and ask everyone who voted for you to reissue their votes and also subsidise Choppy for any financial hardship caused by this ruling.

I'd imagine you have a fair stack of votes that are uncompromised so that's a start... tag the TOD voters to re-submit and depending on your final decision on Snake, find the legitimate and fake (the joke voters from yesterday and the night before) to also resubmit. You've given yourself two weeks either way to re-collate.

Righto I'll have a think about it.

Why can't I still tally the votes as given and have a final leader board, just that certain people will have an asterisk as either ineligible or removed themselves?
