2020 Sleeperbowl League Discussion

Hi Fellas,
It's about that time of year when we come together again and get ready for another NFL season in which real players play in real games and score pretend points for pretend games that we all actually know mean more than the real games themselves.
So I have been playing around with Sleeper the last few days and it seems as though they do none of the work in kicking off the new season. So I will be setting the draft order as it's done in the NFL with non playoffs teams going by end of season record and worst record choosing 1st best record choosing 8th, playoff teams have slots 9-12 with champion taking the 12th pick. Once it's done ill post on here.
The draft will be 8 Rounds and include all Rookies and FA's. Rosters will be increasing by 2 bench spots so everyone will need to cut 6 players prior to starting the draft. Once cuts are done we can get started.

Actually, looks like we can't until you enable pre-draft moves in the settings. It appears that its default behaviour for Sleeper dynasty drafts to be rookie-only and cuts are only made-post draft

Alright so I’m at a point where there isn’t really anyone else I want to drop so I’m opening up the floor.

All players on the table, all offers considered. Draft picks and RBs would appeal the most

I know you said to cut 6, but given different teams will have had different numbers of players on IR. I assume you meant you want 6 empty spots on each of our rosters?

So we’ll need to have 20 players on our roster as it’s an 8 round draft and I’ve increased roster sizes to 28. Having a look though since no one has traded away any 7-8 round picks. Should we look at cutting the draft to 6 rounds and having 22 keepers? Or even look at 30 man rosters? Leaving rosters down to 20/28 seems maybe abit steep? What do you guys think?

Nah, I think your original plan is about right - cut back to 20 players before the draft, then draft 8. If anyone trades away picks before the draft, they don't get extra keepers beyond the 20 - they have to fill vacant spots with FAs post draft.

30 is too many imho, it allows stockpiling - in a league this size you want to force cutbacks and a decent turnover each year I reckon. Keep it interesting and competitive.

Yeah it's annoying on the PC. It doesn't let you access any of the commissioner tools on there either so all that I've had to do on the phone app.

After some thinking I have decided that 6 round draft is best. So everyone needs to have rosters of 22 and we'll do a 6 round draft. We can re-assess next season and see if we need to go to 30 and an 8 round draft but for no I think 22 and 6 rounder suits best.

Technically both Engram and Mosley have not been cleared so are still IR eligible.

Stafford is for me too but the Commish mentioned on sleeper that we need to clear IR as well;

....Also im sure everyone will be aware but we must all clear IR spots aswell
