I haven’t had time to catch up on everything but agree with what Drew23 has written and then that it should be based on last years ladder order if there’s waivers prior to Round 1.
Yeah, the system doesn't work as well when there are potentially games 7 days a week. I am not against a fixed waiver order, but as long as it isn't re-set after every round. I am not sure what options the UF set up gives though.I think there needs to be rules for the FA draft as last year people just started claiming them on mid week waivers from memory without the normal FA draft order.
No current season stats available
It isn't different to Mason Wood - Mason Wood can't be selected either based on what is written above. Why can't I sign him?
Tell me how it's different to say Mason Wood not being on UF right now as well, despite being picked up by the Saints.
I don't see how it's different to having a spot open, like for example wanting to keep the rights to a player, knowing they wouldn't be playing for a year. Use Pat McCartin as an example. He gets cut from a team and then subsequently UF. We've said in the past if we wanted to keep the rights to a player who's not on UF, then we can, we just play one player short. Alex Rance another example if he ever comes back.
Can we all agree to pause the draft right now and debate those points least? Because I find it ridiculous that I can't have the draft pick for a player that no one has spoken up about until he was taken.

I would have selected Mason Wood if I thought otherwise (and I even emailed Ultimate Footy to find out when he would be added to UF - buggers never replied )
On your other points re McCartin, keeping a player you have already is different to trading in one who has never been on your list - like Gallucci this off season for Zim
If we want clarity, I say make it a simple blanket rule if a player is not on the UF player list, he is not available to keep/trade or draft.
Think it opens up a can of worms if you are just able to pick someone up because they are all of a sudden put on a list and it’s conveniently your pick in the draft. Had I known he was available this morning I definitely would’ve picked him up instead of Watson. Why can't I sign him?

Is Mason Wood still on a BFDL list?So tell me then why is (example) Mason Wood allowed to stay on a list if it's not on UF? You've just gone against your own point.
I guess I just assumed he couldn’t be picked up because he wasn’t on UF?? I could be wrong but I thought it was pretty straightforward. I planned to have a crack at him on waivers when he became availableYou had every opportunity to do the same thing. So the question becomes, why didn't you? Can't blame me for being the one who actually made the decision to pick him, right?
Read again. You said it a player isn't on UF he shouldn't be on a list. If you're going to that level of detail that players aren't in the game, then they're not in the game.Is Mason Wood still on a BFDL list?
Mason Wood isn't listed on UF (or wasnt while I had draft picks)
How have I contradicted myself?
Yes. So where have I contradicted that?Read again. You said it a player isn't on UF he shouldn't be on a list. If you're going to that level of detail that players aren't in the game, then they're not in the game.
Are you that blind? I'm not going to write it a third time.Yes. So where have I contradicted that?
Maybe somebody else can spell it out to me then, as I have no idea what you are trying to say. Sorry. Are you that blind? I'm not going to write it a third time.
Hey I’m not saying you’re right or wrong I’m just saying that’s what my thought process was and why I didn’t pick him up. It was my understanding that the only players available were those that were on UF otherwise I would’ve picked him, I literally searched for him before I drafted Watson to double check he hadn’t been added yet.Regardless of whatever happens it looks like I'm for whatever reason here outnumbered.
I'm pretty pissed about it to tbh. Everyone else could've done the same thing but no one wanted him. That's really not my fault.
It will time out in 3 hours if it's not paused.
Why isn't the draft being paused?flaps I strongly suggest you make your pick now in UF.
As I said before, not every coach is working on the assumption that you can pick those that haven’t been listed on UF. Maybe it’s something for future drafts if people agree to it and it’s clear, but not in the current draft.
Glad someone's enjoying it. Because I'm not.Love it.
Because as far as I’m concerned and seemingly the vast majority of coaches, this issue has been addressed. Why isn't the draft being paused?
Right. So what other rules being made up on the fly for the rest of the season? Because I'd like to know when Waterman is going to be available and the official process we're taking with this precedent.Because as far as I’m concerned and seemingly the vast majority of coaches, this issue has been addressed.
