I actually think he scored more when he was solo ruck (100+).

However, when playing along side Ryder, he was able to still fantasy friendly/relevant (90-100). Good enough for F4-6!
I read on dttalk that he averaged 96 as solo ruck and a touch over 100 without ryder. This was in pre season some time though and I've had a lot of beers since then so who knows.

Think he's a monty for top 6

Ah balls...my rational mind is winning out over my impulsive one. Need to get one more rook in (thinking Atu as he looks good and the JS is good because they're absolutely useless at the moment and he's more senior than a few of the kids like Lazarro, Phillips etc.)

Also means that I legitimately could have the biggest cash gen of all the top 200 or so sides...and it gets F. Macrae off the field.

Think I'm gonna have to do it, and just have my fun next week instead - playing the long game/bye structure instead. Allows me one more week to look at Ziebell/Hall together, and evaluate the defs/mids/fwds too. Probably drop a bit in rank, but worth it in the long run (even if Ziebell goes up another 50K, Atu would go up the same amount, so I'm not losing any cash gen just points for that week).

Dunks > Treloar
Briggs > Atu (play on field in place of Macrae)

435K remaining for double upgrade/down/up next week from Tex and Fanta/Gulden

Could realistically have 30 green dots this week if Brockman plays :)

One thing with Atu, he played that defence sweeper role on against Freo. Wonder if that changes to a less friendly role with Hall back?

$208k in the bank. Was originally planning to do someone like Phillips and rookie cash in to get a premo and cash generator but really not sure what to do now with the Dunks injury.

Dunks + Phillips nets $1.6m to spend. Could potentially get Macrae + ROB or Marshall and sort my Flynn issue. Or could do Oliver/Trac & Treloar and have a set and forget midfield (hopefully). Or I could scrap all of that and do Dunkley to Macrae and cash in on a rook but that will be another week rolling where I have left cash on the table. Thoughts?

So whats the actual ideal way of going into bye rounds? Only started fantasy last year without the byes, so still trying to get my head around it all
Is it your top 18 players for the week? Each week I've traded to balance amongst the three bye rounds, and now have my starting 22 like such:
13/22 playing RD 12, 17/22 playing RD 13, 14/22 playing RD 14.

Any tips or advice would be unreal, we also get three trades for the three rounds if I recall?

Current trades this week:
Dunkley -> Lloyd
Gulden -> Any player for 657k (Leaning towards Noah Anderson, has Pies next round and then two games at Metricon where he's gone 120, 118, 120)

Only issue is this locks in pretty much straight away, tough one, but nice to have a luxury trade.

Not too fussed tbh. If he goes 50, that's enough for me. It's more about the JS up until/over the byes, more than anything. Can't see any other rooks that fit the bill (unless Pedlar comes in this week).

Would look at Frederick, but Port rooks are way too fragile at the mo, and the ball just lived in Port's defence in that game (playing keeping's off and toying with the Saints) - hence his decent score.

Also has a BE of -7, so has a ton of cash to make (added bonus of getting F. Macrae off the field too)

P.S. found this too :)

“Atu’s put a lot of hard work to get into the position he’s put himself now. He’s only been at the footy club for five months,” Ziebell told North Media.

He was traded in as a small pressure forward, and with the support of the coaches they asked him to think about changing his role to a small lockdown defender.

“His one-on-one contests and rebound off half back … I thought he was outstanding. He’s going to grow into that role and he’s been really impressive so far.”

Alright so that's my rooks sorted. Now I can start building from the end of this round (hopefully can stay inside the Top 1000 despite only doing sideways trades)

Currently have:

N. Cox, Berg, Idun, Kozi, Gulden, Powell, Jordon, Warner, Scott, Brockman, F. Macrae, Atu, Robertson, Farrar, Rowe, Burgess on/off field. Will start culling and upgrading over the next 6 weeks leading into the bye, with the aim to have basically every rook bar Warner and Powell, out of my team by the conclusion of the 3 bye rounds.

:)

That bench is starting to look pretty thin IMO - a bit of a worry having all of Gould, Downie, Martyn and Treacy

Considering a left field option in Brandon Ellis for Dunkley. Been killing it most weeks and a couple good games coming up.

Need the extra 20k I get from him over Ziebell to upgrade Hunter to Robertson

Doing a very similar move this week.

Dunkley -> premo (likely Oliver)
Rowe -> Frederick/Atu

Was also very VERY tempted to try and get 2 premos in this week but given there are some half decent rooks available I’m happy to do the disciplined thing and prioritise one of them.

And like you it leaves me with ~400k, so in my case that’s rather useful in getting Flynn up to Gawn with an up/down trade the following week.

This all changes for me if Flynn is left out, no such problems for you and your completed ruck line :cool:

Edit: was tempted to trade Helmet the Spud:tm: out instead of the rookie downgrade but he has the Tigers this week who don’t give a crap about defenders running round racking up a million points in defensive 50 (refer to Salem’s game on the weekend) so I’m finally expecting some reward for holding Caleb.

Because I saw some of his “efforts” earlier in the year - will take a few more good performances for those memories to fade...

Oh I saw those efforts too. First hand. As an owner.

It’s a minor miracle my team is still in the half decent shape it’s in after that debacle

Mind keeps going back to Treloar potentially a ticking time bomb with those hammies. Really want him but argh.. does come with a small level of risk.

Eh. When previously 'solid' premos like Danger, Neale, Dusty etc. are going down left, right and centre, it's really basically down to luck at this point, whether or not you lose a player.

Just back them in and hope for the best, haha

in a very similar boat. could go dunkley to fyfe and gulden to ridley.
Still have 8 rooks on my field. buttt, with cash gen slowing up i might downgrade gulden to farrar. Still doesnt help my bench rooks that have brockan, elysmith, treacy, meek, rantall and some other potatos.

Is Farrar too expensive?

Can do Dunks to Macrae
Rowe to Farrar/Atu

Both seem like they will make money and both would be fielded at F6 so probably spend up on Farrar?

Any other rooks I'm missing? already have Devrob

There’s copping unexpected injuries then there’s trading in a guy with an illustrious soft tissue history. Does look fit as a fiddle at the minute but I’m still a little torn

true - but they also said he couldn’t kick and was a ball butcher !!

He’s not training on concrete at Lexus centre this year.

Yeh starting to think dunks sideways.. gulden to heppell. Wait another week on the bench, given I have cover of some sort for the time being
