I assume this is a single year league?
If so, and this might be a bit spicy for you, what about offloading dunks? He's out for the majority of the season (perhaps all of the fantasy season) but might be a tempting target for a team with a little forward depth.

Now that is a spicy move. Strategy at the moment is to hold for a month and see how his recovery is going ahead of the finals. But agree he could be a tasty carrot for another team

Problem with holding him until you have certainty is that his value immediately drops if it's bad news. Maybe do some research this week and maybe next and then make a call. The longer you leave it, the greater the chance the club announces he's done for the year, which would be terrible for you.

I'm tempted to take a donut this week and stick to my original plan.

Do the numbers - if you have bringing in a 30 -40 type if you change your plans - it doesn't take long to overhaul that point loss.

If you are going to miss a chance that will cost you $100K in a few weeks, it doesn't take long to work out that the donut isn't as bad as you feared....

I was looking at it yesterday.

If I fix ruck I'll be fielding Gawn,RCD and one of Macrae, Brockman, McNeil or Rowe.

If I fix forward line I'd be fielding Jelly, Hall and one of the rucks or a donut.

Second option I'll be able to get Gawn/RCD next week where as I probably can't afford to get Jelly/Hall next week.

I had the chance a few years back, to essentially swap Libba and Merrett. Libba was returning from injury and had basically peaked. Merrett had been injured and was starting to get back to 90 - 100 point games.

But I had a potential donut as well.

So I fixed the donut, Libba scored 20 - Merrett 120 - and the price difference was now 50K and rising.

When I finally got around to making that trade, it cost me 170K and had cruelled my side.....

I definitely think copping the donut is the way to go if it gets to that. Any gains RCD makes in price will cancel out with Gawn dropping.
Jelly & Hall both should go up. Hall quite a bit.

Only way I get ****ed is if Gawn goes 150+ or RCD goes huge or one of the forwards get injured (which is a high chance knowing my luck)

All things being equal Jelly/Hall will outscore Gawn/RCD and the 3rd player is likely to score 30-40 maximum.

I would probably be fixing donuts still. As long as whoever your bringing in is a decent rook that is. Bringing in someone like a Treacy 20-30 to cover a donut isn't worth it.
Bringing in a RCD/Byrnes 50+ is worth it.

Alot of the names you listed are on the ropes. Macrae, McNeil, Rowe probably all don't play this week. Brockman 50/50.

You're fighting 1x donut this week... but things can always get worse... next week it could be 2x donuts!?

Some of the names appearing in the bargain bin is just amazing, many of them seem like they are at there expiry date though.

Similar boat to you however I'm not too concerned about holding Treacy. I think at his tackling best he has a 50-60 in him, however, he's also the kind of bloke who struggles to hit a BE of 20. I don't see him making us cash, he's just a nice placeholder with that R/F dpp. Do you need to field one of those three rucks?

Sturt had yet another f*n injury playing for Peel on the weekend. Whilst Sturt and Treacy are very different players Sturt (on the odd occasion that he's fit) fills that third tall role nicely. Reckon that sures up the third tall spot for Treacy should JL opt for the three talls up forward.

With Hughes and Chappy going down my hope is that Aish goes back, Tucker moves to a wing, Fyfe plays more mid time and hopefully Treacy comes back in? Don't rely on me though, I'm just trying to justify holding Treacy. Odds are JL just brings in Duman and Blakely to cover until Pearce and Ryan return, who are both listed as being a week away.

JL hasn't given much away in his pressers so I doubt we'll find out early.
I would concur with all of that

Either way I could end up with a donut. I don't particularly want to do a double downgrade as thats how I ended up with Macrae and Tex's shit score instead of Ziebell's 170 lol.

My side looks like this with Tex & Gulden to Jelly & Hall.

Next week I want to fix the R2 (Gawn) with a 1 up/1 down and then week after probably a double downgrade to fix the bench once the rookies all start topping out. Highmore & Rowe if he gets dumped.

4 blokes im keen on 2 this week. Luke Ryan confirmed out - at least one week, but could very well be two. Not worth holding tbh anyway

So Ryan and Gulden to a combo of

Harmes/Hall/Kelly/Daicos

If Dusty is back then you're probably fine there without a donut. If Martin's out, and Rowe dropped. Then you're staring down the barrel of a donut in the forward line. But surely one of the others will play to cover it.

Your other option is Rowe -> RCD by swinging Brockman forward. Tex -> one of Hall/Jelly. Hold Gulden for one more week. Field RCD instead of Warner in the midfield and swing Warner forward to cover the Dusty out.

That'll give you plenty of coin to grab Gawn next week (if needed), or if Bryan stays in (or Flynn returns) you can wait another week on Gawn and grab Jelly next week.

I think Bryan holds his spot this week atleast, and then hopefully Flynn returns next week or the week after to buy you more time? While Gawn is dropping in price the best process might be to just wait a couple before pulling the trigger anyway?

I do like your trades though so if thats your gut feel just stick with it. RCD still gettable next week anyway.

Edit: If Bryan is out too and you have a ruck donut your other breakglass option is Tex-> RCD swinging Warner forward. And Flynn -> Gawn?

If Dusty's out i'll certainly need to re-assess things. Jelly can certainly wait a week or 2.

The other option I've looked as is getting Marshall instead of Jelly. Use Marshall as 2nd ruck for a bit until I can get Gawn and then swing Marshall forward. Do people think Marshall is an F5/F6 keeper though?

Sounds like I'm down to praying for Bryan so I can get my ideal trades. I'm certainly worried Essendon wont want him facing Mummy though.

Uh oh tigs2010 Treacy not on the plane. Say that's as good as confirmed out.

Edit: Interestingly Meek and Western were on the plane.
Ouch. And to think I traded Meek to Macrae the little potato.
