After much deliberation I'm becoming pretty settled on:

Gawn - Preuss
Skinner - Dawson

Really didn't want to trade Max this early (or at all) but unfortunately DEF is rapidly turning into a major malfunction, and I am one Luke Foley café trip away from fielding a McCartin/DeKoning double quarter pounder turd burger.

I fully expect one of Gawn/Grundy to still be Top 2 Ruck come end of year, but Preuss as a cheap solo ruck is too good to pass up at this stage when there are such drastic issues down back.

Wood also held his spot which is surprising. Looked a moral to be either Hayes or Wood out.. the fact Wood also held shows they aren't shy to go tall which bodes well for Hayes going forward. He's got a one man buffer zone who could be dropped before him if it doesn't work this week.

Jones to Bowey at d6 leaving me 70k

Gibcus to Skinner and Hough to Reef leaving me 170k

Don't want to trade Gawn or Grundy.

Preuss is a much better bet than any of Skinner, Bowey or Reef, and if you're bringing him in you have to field him, so you have to trade one of the G's.

I'd be up for hearing an alternate view, but I've spent most of the week mulling this over and always end up back at that conclusion. Unless you're super keen on Bowey as the next breakout star defender I guess...

Someone tell me I’m crazy, I said to myself I just want to enjoy this season, and like the players I’ve got. Am I crazy for considering Grundy (105?) and Rowell (85) to Pruess (80?) and Trac (110-115). Grundy will be a top 2 ruck but I think I can afford to bring him in after the byes when Pruess has hopefully bridged the price gap a little. Trac feels like a must have, I love watching him play and he’s a captain option every week, Grundy isn’t at the moment.

As for Pruess vs Rowell… Pruess is cheaper and there is obviously risk there with JS but I’ve got Hayes at R3 if required.

The midfield looks sexy with that aswell. Touk, Steele, Trac, Macrae and Cripps.

I’ve made the switch. Part for cash gen part for covid. I’ll trade Owens next week for a rookie who performs. Don’t want to try guess who that is

Yeah I really need Xerri, would like to Bring English in either next week or the week after aswell up forward as my first “upgrade” to look after the ruck situation aswell if things go pear shaped. I think I’m going to back it in and enjoy Trac and Pruessy

Thoughts on Boweys role while you’re around? I know you have him already so keen to know

I may be bias but I liked his role before Salem went down, the kid is a gun and the dees want him distributing the ball out of the back 6. Round 1’s score is obviously a bit scary to look at but he played a completely different role last week.

He’s not going to take many kick ins but I’m expecting a few +6’s on the receiving end of the kick ins.

At 420k you really can’t go wrong especially with the lack of options around or below that price tag.

Either bring in Preuss to give me some support (conservative trade) or go ballsy with HRS and NWN in for Hough and J Smith to maximise my scoring / cash gen.

Another thing with Bowey, he simply does not know how to lose. 8-0 or something at AFL level and 2-0 in my fantasy side
