I don't think anyone can wait on Brayshaw, but if they could, I'd wait 2 weeks.
Carlton this week, but Geelong at GHMBA the following.
O'CONNOR will tag Brayshaw.
Tagged Titch to 9disposals/23pts first half today.
Not sure if the tag dropped, or Mitchell worked his way into the game, as he still finished with 33d, 94pts.
Pretty sure Sam Mitchell tagged titch in the first half playing him forward of the ball.

It seemed like it was only when the rookies were gassed I saw him more around the middle.

ROWELL out...

Who I can afford for Rowell depends on which rookie I cull

Rachele to Hayes allows Rowell to BSmith/Oliver/Walsh
Ward to Hayes allows Rowell to Cripps/Crisp/Heeney

I would have liked to keep Rachele one more week and loop his score with Hough but trading him allows me to get a better player. I still don't trust Crisp and it would be silly to bring Cripps straight back in with his high BE.
Pretty much exact same predicament as I’m in. Do I want Cripps with his 82 BE knowing he’s a safe top 3 defender or Bailey Smith on a 73 BE, with the possibility he becomes a top 3 mid this year? Tough one

Plus Carlton have absolutely touched up our mids on a few occasions in recent times. Round 3 of last year was haunting. Hopefully we've turned a corner but I've been through too many years of pain to get my hopes up.

It depends on your makeup of your team and who you are potentially upgrading. But i'd say midfield upgrade is probably more important, because mid premiums can score 60 pts more than your mid rookies, whereas, defensive and fwd premiums seem a bit underhwleming this year (exceptions obviously)

I’d be fielding NOD in either scenario be it defence or Mid. There’s 118k difference between Crisp and Baz. Equivalent of about 12-14 points in price. Crisp looks a 105 so Baz would need to maintain a 117-120 average for the year to be a better pick from here

I have really bad history with Crisp so I am leaning towards getting BSmith. As of this moment, I think Crisp is more likely to drop a 70 than Smith...when I pick premos I don't look at their ceilings because I know I'm not going to get that when I get them. I just pick the one who could let me down the least

Gone for the double down this week (barring bad news). Answerth and Ward both moving coz near BE and havent shown the hype mentioned during preseason.

Clark had 18poss and 9 tackles in WAFL and Eagles need to punish drop those underperformers weak ass mofos vs Sydney.

350k in bank for next week to get me Rachelle > Miller & Hayes > Hayes.

Prob be in same position the week after that for another upgrade if all goes to plan. Happy days

Yeh i'm in similar situation, but tossing up between Whitfield, Touk or JDG

Is Preuss a keeper? or is a Preuss -> Darcy in a few weeks on the cards

or is english now the only viable R2?

because darcy will be super cheap, almost become a straight swap

One potential with Smith is to the play the breakeven game as insurance in case he doesn't hold form.
In two games time, Smith will probably be around $960k.
In two games times, Ollie Wines will be around $820k. Crisp will be around $830k.

Obviously best case scenario, you get Smith in and he continues his form.
But if you get him in and he performs poorly, then you can pocket $120k (the equivalent of downgrading someone like Mead to a basement rookie) by downgrading. However this is on the assumption that you don't end up with injuries or other forced trades, which is never a guarantee.

Trying to think of my trades for the next two weeks, the plan is

This week
Out: McCartin, Bowey
In: rookie, premium

Next week
Out: J.Hayes, Xeri/JHF
In: Rookie, Premium

Whilst I am tempted to go all in on Bailey Smith this week, it means that after expected price changes I will be left with $750k for a midfielder. The only interesting one in that price range is Taylor Adams.

Where as if I went for say Callum Mills this week, it would give me about $830k next week which would be enough for Cripps.

So
Mills + Cripps
or
Smith + Adams

I would seriously caution against this Shadow. It does make sense given Hall is out, but I had a little monetary investment on the weekend on him scoring more than 73.5 fantasy points (gamble responsibly everyone) so I was watching him more closely than I would normally and he just doesn’t have that piggish side to his game at the moment.

Even in the second half when Hall was done, McDonald wasn’t eager to peel off for an easy +6, and he wasn’t taking kick ins either. He was huge on celebrating whenever a team mate did something good, so I think he’s just loving playing the team-first (ie fantasy last) role at the moment.

I only needed him to score a measly 14 points in the last quarter… he scored 9 🤮

Maybe when Hall got injured the Roos weren’t keen to shake things up too much in the middle of a game (although they were getting well beaten so why not…) and they’ll shuffle the magnets and have him playing the Hall role this week, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Sound advice, and given Danger was pathetic as well, I'll be going with my first option and just getting Bailey Smith and Hobbs in, instead :) Cheers for the heads up and info though, and definitely agree with ya if that's the case!

Ward > Hobbs
Hall > B. Smith

13k remaining

Gonna give Bazlenka a shot, and see how he goes. Looking at getting Bray in, in 2 weeks after he faces Hewett and O'Connor. Earmarking 2 of those last 3 spots for Macrae and Brayshaw, with the last one open for a fallen premo like Wines or similar when he comes back.

From here, hoping to get Taranto, Bray, Macrae, Crisp and then maybe someone likes Wines, and that'll be pretty much my side complete - before upgrading guys like Xerri, Preuss, Curnow, Brodie and maybe even Daicos, if he falls away in the second half of the season. One thing is for sure though, we'll have definitely have teams full of uber premos once the season is complete - given just how good the cash gen looks to be this year.

P.S. Martin is way ahead of JHF on average, and deserves M7 over JHF, IMO - hence why he's there (for TedDougChris especially :p )

My issue with trading in Hobbs is it may cost me another week for downgrades

that 110k difference from a 190k rookie (assuming some of them play of course) could mean a extra trade/week in the short term, which is super annoying

I think i'll just end up passing on him in order to upgrade my team quicker

Hmm now that dpps are out things are more interesting

I would love a 190k defender with decent JS but we all know that is to much to ask

So i can't really trade McCartin so my options become Ward or MacDonald down

and Probably Rachele up to Smith

Hmm tempted to go a ballsy move and move Brodie on early

Brodie to Hobbs and Rachele to Smith

Which would allow another nice upgrade next week to say Sinclair or Crisp

Does mean keeping Ward, MacDonald and McCartin for another week but i don't think Brodie will make a huge amount more cash and it wont hurt much to keep those 3 spuds on the bench 1 more week

Obviously don't own Rowell :p

I’m genuinely lost as to how to do my trades this week. I want to get rid of McCartin but I can’t get a worthwhile trade out of him without trading someone like Grundy (who I don’t want to trade) and Rachele (who still has cash gen left in him) but I would like to get another defensive upgrade done. I’ve got $144k in the bank.

Want to grab Crisp next week but may have to grab him now over Mills given his lower BE.
Love both those boys too, and want them in this week and next. Think it has to be Crisp with the 82 BE over Mills 112 doesn’t it?

Only thing is, could be a bit awkward at bye time. Crisp, Sicily and Daicos as round 14 bye premiums, Whitfield, Short, Hewett as round 12 premiums. So will be limiting myself so a maximum of 21 on field those 2 weeks
