Well ive cut 8 players coz I have 4 picks this year, cleaned out IR onto the active roster and thats all im doing, sorry but your strict enforcement of 6 is stupid

If had six picks over six rounds it makes sense but I dont

You've agreed to it every other year! You even said one year it's good to keep the free agent pool strong. Not sure why you're opposed to it all of a sudden!

So what happens if you have 10 picks? you get to have a larger roster coz you only need to cut six players, smh, I dont know how to dumb this down for you enough Lenny to try and show you how ******ed this "it must be 6" is.

If I had six draft picks then yes, I would have agreed to it... what is so hard to understand?

Not sure why you're being so aggressive about it? It's been the rules for 5 years, and you've agreed to it for those 5 years. I understand how it works, I don't need you to explain any of it to me. Yes in the past some teams have had to cut more players than they have had draft picks. And some years some teams have had more picks that open roster spots (they then have to make further cuts before the season starts) this isn't anything new and if you continue to talk to me disrespectfully you can leave.

Happy to take a vote on it to change next season. We've always put things people want changed up for a vote (strange this hasn't come up yet?) So if you want different rules we'll all vote on it and they'll come in next season if enough people want it. Not just changing things on the fly because you can't cut 2 more players.

Im looking to cut down on a few leagues and ESPN is my preferred option to axe. Someone else can take over my side. Ill make it easy for you.

Holy Dooley!
Will all be okay. This is minor compared to some of the chaos of Alpha over the last 15 years or something. It's about time something blew up.

He's already gone and deleted himself from the league on ESPN. Imagine losing it over 2 players! Just re-draft them if they are that important to you.
Was going to offer him the chance to stay but seems like he's already made his decision.

Imagine losing it over 2 players!

Imagine being a commish and not realising the 6 cuts for all teams rule before the draft is incredibly dumb. 😃

I'm not really that worked up, had been thinking about dropping a couple of leagues for a year or so now and this was a convenient exit strategy on a site I'm not a fan of.

But seriously, not sure I see the point in forcing people to drop the same number of players as there are rounds in the draft regardless of how many picks they actually have.

Why should someone who has gone all in the previous season and traded away 1st and/or 2nd round picks for an established player weaken their roster so much that they don't even have the opportunity to have the same number of players on their roster at the end of the season?

And we’re BACK!!!! Big off-season storyline.

Not that it matters but I agree with the minimum cuts rule. It puts more weight to draft picks so if someone traded away all their picks for players to try and win that’s fine but it makes the off-season harder. It’s like a salary cap equalizer. Happy to do a bite for it or something but don’t want to see you leave over it A11dAtP0w3R especially with your list

I suppose it comes down to if you used them to trade for players 27-32 on the roster.
Using picks to get better players isn't diminished by having a team turnover number.

But as mentioned above, thats the rules, and something to bring up for vote before next season if there is real concern with it.

Im not coming back so you guys can do what you want moving forward.

Will be easy to find a replacement given the roster.

I'll just say a few things on this. The rule to cut your roster down and have 6 free list spots, regardless of how many draft picks you own, has been a hard and fast rule for the past 5 seasons. It's basically there to keep the free agent pool strong, and keep squads turning over, year to year. No is forcing you to drop your best players. And if there is a player you really don't want to drop, the whole free agent pool is available in the draft so you can just pick them back up again.

As always, I am happy to take a vote on whether it remains a rule. We've changed several aspects of the rules over the years but it's only done if the majority want it. People can have strong opinions about whatever they want but bring it up respectably, no need to be aggressive or mean. I won't stand for that, this isn't a cash league so there really is no need to get worked up. I appreciate that people want what's best for their team and are passionate enough about this league but let's not turn this place into one with a poor culture. It's always been light-hearted and fun and I'd love to keep it that way.

So the opportunity is now there for anyone to bring up any issues/rule changes they want. I always ask at the start of every season what people want changed and for the most part it's been reasonably minimal changes but I'm always receptive to change.

I had also intended to ask before the season got under way whether anyone wished to change the platform we operate on? I know some guys aren't the biggest espn fans. So if that is something we as a majority want to do then by all means let's vote on it.
