Yeah, I think that we should be able to pick from the FA list before round one based in last year's ladder. I am not sure if it has always been after round 1, but I am in too many leagues to keep track of rulesooooffttt
yeh im with you there, cant remember this being the rule but then we didnt have extra players added like that, so i doubt there was the same interest in the round 1 waivers.Yeah, I think that we should be able to pick from the FA list before round one based in last year's ladder. I can't remember the rules either. Unknown Caller?Yeah, I think that we should be able to pick from the FA list before round one based in last year's ladder. I am not sure if it has always been after round 1, but I am in too many leagues to keep track of rules
This is what I've been trying to say and I haven't seen a rule. I always thought it was based on last year's ladder pre round 1 then after round 1 it's the ladderI can't remember the rules either. Unknown Caller?
I agree, it seems a bit wrong that teams that played in Prelim and Semi Finals last season are getting a shot at SSP players ahead of teams that finished outside of the Finals altogether last season.
Yeah there was a similar issue when the first mid season players got dropped in and could be picked up without waiver order, Marilyn Pickett ectI think this rule came about in the 2021 season due to the SSP and mid season draft both having a lot more relevance. I wasn’t part of the league then but I did check in and recall a lot of discussion about this topic and remember that flaps had some concerns when UF would just randomly add large groups of new, important players that could be taken by anyone lucky enough to notice.
Blocking picks till after round 1 is a simple way to avoid this. As for the order being set after round 1 I’ll let you guys discuss that as I have pick 1 in this mini draft and feel it suits me perfectly this season.
This is my problem too hahaYeah, I think that we should be able to pick from the FA list before round one based in last year's ladder. I am not sure if it has always been after round 1, but I am in too many leagues to keep track of rules
This was my assumption too. It's always been that way as far as i've been aware (across every other league I play in too)This is what I've been trying to say and I haven't seen a rule. I always thought it was based on last year's ladder pre round 1 then after round 1 it's the ladder
Yeah my concern with UF adding players was that it just became a first-in best dressed approach, which was entirely unfair.I think this rule came about in the 2021 season due to the SSP and mid season draft both having a lot more relevance. Best way would have been to have had it the same way the first 10 preseasons have been heheI can't remember if it's been said before, but do we have a tiebreaker for RFA after R1?
What i mean is, we've got two teams that are 2-7, two teams on 4-4, and two teams on 7-2 in For/Against. There's literally nothing seperating them.
I don't know if this is just adding too much detail, but a flip of the coin doesn't seem right/fair if we're looking at splitting hairs for R1 waivers (which can be pretty crucial).
Would everyone be ok if we added a tiebreaker of last year's finishing position as the difference just for future transperancy's sake?

Therefore:
RFA 2-3 remains the same (Doggies finished lower than Lightning in 2021).
RFA 7-8 needs to switch (Olma finished above Wombats in 2021).
RFA 12-13 needs to switch (Raiders finished above Sparrows in 2021).
Does that seem fair enough to all? Would need to be actioned before the waivers process. And from there it's all the usual RFA, right?
Best way would have been to have had it the same way the first 10 preseasons have been hehe
The wombats getting a little screwed by the sub rule at the moment. LDU early knock out means he's under the 30% game time so goes out for the "playing" emegency in Prior (medi sub who didn't get on the ground.
Still a few players to go. But LDU's 3 handballs, 1 tackle and one FF is enough to swing some categories
Its been a rough round for my Wombats with late outs and injuries. But we'll bounce back in true Wombat spirit. The wombats getting a little screwed by the sub rule at the moment. Hes playing my Wombats so it is helping him lol. But it's not UF fault,I don't think the 3 handballs and 1 free would do it, I'm just low on players which is my own fault for trading out 4 depth players in the off season. I thought a few guys had more JS than they actually had. This is brutal. The game is doing the right thing but really not helping you at all.
The extra free would have tied a category but needed another goal as well to change the result. Was much closer than the 6-3 score suggests.Hes playing my Wombats so it is helping him lol. Depth is key every season.. even with good depth though you can get stretched to breaking point. I did the same over the preseason and moved Sheed on (who had done a long term injury) and thought I'd have the depth. I've just heard Merrett is out now for 8-10 weeks as well. That's 2 of my top 3 ranked players gone with long term injuries. Even with bringing in depth players liked Newcombe and Sparrow.. they're not going to account for the stats that Laird and Merrett would normally put up. Just have to hope that they're all fit and firing comes Finals. The extra free would have tied a category but needed another goal as well to change the result. Depth is absolutely key this season and I had just enough to get me over the line
