Between the arcs has been poor recently, for a number of reason. We have stopped frontal pressure at a stoppage, either over or under used the ball and we have struggled to control the ball/tempo. If we are sending Jsos to play in the middle, I would play him on Oliver and allow Cripps/Cerra to hunt the ball

Doc, Martin, Fisher, Durdin playing cameos at centre bounces would help with a point of difference
Agree we have to do something outside the square with our midfield more of the same mix there won’t cut it - Martin to a wing and Cottrell across half forward this type of thing. If Martin is picked he has to be ready to play anywhere.

This is our third away game in a row (following 2 trips interstate)

Granted we had a backlog of home games earlier, and it evens itself out, but it still, it is a bit frustrating (to me at least)

Still, gotta play with the hand we have been dealt, and Cripps is playing, so let's get this win baggers !

Swap Martin and Doc? Martin is agile, tackles hard and Doc is strong overhead. An option

I guess you can't make too many changes, a couple of tweaks would be more effective, but it starts with intent and pressure, especially in wet conditions

Turn my back for 5 minutes and doom and gloom took over, with a small reprieve with Cripps suspension being overturned. Really missing the likes of Hewett, Kennedy, Newman, Boyd, Williams. These players have a point of difference, in hardness or speed

Think it's the best side we can field with the players available. Good to see Stocker in the side, thought we lacked 1 extra defender to play on smalls last week, which also hurt Saad's efficiency. Over the last 2 weeks, I get that our backline has pressed further up the ground to support our mids, but I feel we either pressed too high and or too bunched. If we want to continue with that tactic, someone like Gov needs to sit deeper back as a sweeper, rather than allowing the opposition to have free access behind our back 6

Weiters, Young to take Brown and the resting ruck, Weitering will generally take the deeper forward. Marchbank to Fritsch, the rest of the backline to take their smalls. When Pertracca is resting forward, I would send Gov to him, if he pushes forward to the stoppage, handover to Doc.

Forward line, we need to create space so May, Lever and Petty just can't intercept with ease. Langdon will play on the far wing, Cotts the likely matchup, but early on I would play him on the opposite wing and let him hunt the footy more.

If it's wet, we need to win the territory battle at all costs, dirty ball, long ball, etc, just get it in our forward half. Actually play inside their wings if it is wet, and if they do get to the outside, given the conditions the transition will be slowed and less likely damaging

Tough ask, but break anywhere close to even in clearances and contested ball and we have a chance
This week I would send McGovern forward spreading their defence. Go long and direct with one of Curnow, McKay & McGovern meeting the ball with smalls applying immense tackling pressure. We have Marchbank as 3rd tall.

This week Voss has licence to be creative & develop secondary game plan suited to damp conditions. Under this game plan we handle ball less but it relies on players working hard when we don't have ball & applying great pressure.

There is a little bit in the Giants/Dogs rivalry as well, Toby Greene not playing doesn’t help us though.

Doggies lucky...Greene and Preuss out this week. Big outs. Preuss would have helped nullify their strong midfield at stoppages.

Mitchell Lewis is out too and he's Hawthorn's best key forward.

Gov forward, if Jsos plays through the middle would work, I just prefer Gov to be in the backline adding some pace

I think there will be some tweaks, perhaps Stocker and Doc in the middle/between the arcs

Kinda feels like Gov one of few that would want to take a mark other than spoil all the time.

How about we just win and won’t have to worry about it.

That's correct, it would rely on Jsos playing midfield, ruck, bench. Rather than forward, ruck, bench. Given Hewitt & Kennedy out, it would be an added benefit when Cripps is resting. Jsos is slow, so more stoppage time is not the worst for him. We will also need him more in the midfield area linking from defence. It's going to be tough for Pittonet covering the ground.

Our small forwards have been struggling against their direct opponents in the air. I feel, adding McGovern up their with his speed would help them come into the game.

Attending again (4-1) for those plying at home

Looking to go 5-1 tonight

Jrn ABB still undefeated (4-0) so hoping he doesn’t see a loss

Wanna see a lift in intensity, tackling pressure and willingness to hit the corridor when on.

Harry needs a big game

If dogs lose this arvo then we should be home and hose

Maybe, would still prefer us to make it on our own merits (winning) than stagger over the line Bradbury style.
