The down side is that if Roo moves to the USA then his boys may take up USA sports, and there goes any Father Sons for us.

And not just that, we need the boys playing footy here so that they get better and better and improve their skills..
Imagine the money they could make in pro sports in the US. Best we can hope for is if they somehow prefer living in Australia.

Good let America put up with his s*** jokes. :tongueclosed:

Fox Footy is awaiting a call on whether star analyst and former St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt will return to its screens in 2023.
The Herald Sun understands Riewoldt, 40, is considering living overseas in the United States next year.
Fox confirmed it had been negotiating with the out-of-contract Riewoldt and was awaiting his decision.
Riewoldt was also believed to be high on Nine’s list to replace Ross Lyon on Footy Classified.
Lyon has left the free-to-air network to return to St Kilda as senior coach.
The Herald Sun reported last month that Nine was also courting Jordan Lewis, another Fox Footy talent, to replace Lyon.
If Riewoldt departs Fox Footy, it’s believed he is most likely to live overseas with his family.
His departure would be a blow for the network, given Riewoldt starred in multiple programs and live coverage of blockbuster matches.

Riewoldt would leave a hole in flagship Monday night program On The Couch, where he analyses the weekend’s games alongside Jonathan Brown and host Garry Lyon.

The five-time All Australian also appeared on Fox Footy’s new Saturday night live entertainment show Best On Ground, alongside host Mark Howard, Nathan Buckley, Kath Loughnan and Brown.
Riewoldt was often a guest host on AFL360 and he filled in for Wayne Carey alongside Ross Lyon on Triple M this year.
Riewoldt and Garry Lyon formed a great on-air partnership and delivered brilliant insights on On The Couch and Fox’s live coverage from grounds.
The 336-game player has been a major part of the Fox Footy family since 2018, signing at the network immediately after retiring from the Saints.
In the past five seasons he has become one of the most respected voices in the game and one of the faces of Fox Footy.

His opinions on the Saints in 2023 would make fascinating viewing after the club recruited his former coach, Ross Lyon.
Riewoldt’s forthright opinions often set the footy agenda and last June he urged the Saints to chase Alastair Clarkson.
“You’d be derelict in your duty if you didn’t make the call (to Clarkson),” Riewoldt said.
Riewoldt also declared the Saints needed to cull their list hard to re-emerge as a legitimate premiership contender after missing the finals for the 10th time in 11 seasons.
The Tasmanian AFL taskforce member has been one of the strongest public advocates for the Apple Isle being granted the league’s 19th team.

Riewoldt has been contacted for comment.
Rumour he will join the Saints board as well

I feared that would happen one day .
You’re right it would be just our luck that potentially our best father son prospect would end up living on the other side of the world

If the main BF board is representative of footy fans in general, it's clear that most non-Saints fans can't stand the media contributions of Joey, Dal, or Roo.

I can't say I'm a massive fan either, Roo sounds like he's Foxified himself to sound more dramatic, not sure how insightful Joey really is, don't mind Dal but I can see why he'd piss off the macho meatheads that think real men must have have deep voices.

But the more Saints in the AFL environment, the better. As long as they are the smart ones, not the dummies.

I think Joey is good- looks relaxed and in control. Dal is very personable, like he's just having a casual chat with mates so is refreshing. Rooey is a bit pompous but very easy to listen too. He's a lot better than Browny who is dull and blokey. Compared to some of the other ex players our crop is pretty good.

I don’t mind them all, I think Roo and Joey in particular are very good when they’re talking football but it’s like Riewoldt is constantly trying to convince the world he’s funny when he’s really not. Bit like Wayne Carey. When it’s pure football talk though he’s elite.

The thing about the past player expert gig is that the more time increases since that player was at clubland, the less authority the guy has to give expert commentary. So you really need to make hay while the sun shines, because before long you'll be looking very antiquated compared with the newer batch of recent retirees with much more relevant and interesting commentary.

I think he's just doing his job.
I don't think any of them are funny, but I also think Russell Robertson stinks as a muso.
He's still told to go out there and play, and the others are told to go out there and provide light entertainment.
A lot of the time they're trying to make something out of nothing. It can be painful watching. I reckon if you met them at a party pissing it on, they'd be as funny as any of your other mates are without really having to try too hard.

On the footy side, he runs in a straight line with issues just like he did on the field. Along with the staunch pro-saints outlook, it's gonna piss some people off. We're pretty lucky to have as many saints and saints supporters in the media as we do. I miss Finey on the radio though. He was a pretty prominent Saints man. SEN evenings went to shyte when he was sacked, and Rohan Connelly's Footyology has fallen apart in an embarrassing way since he split for the eatery.

Lowlight:
Making an occasion of round 1 out to the pub with my Mrs (C-wood supporter), only to realize they'd made zero improvement during the off season.

The highlight was losing to Essington then not having to invest in this shit show anymore.

Just have a gut feeling Adelaide is really going to regret not taking this kid.

If he works out he'll be an absolute bargain. Has all the tools to be something special. His attitude to a full time AFL career was questioned before the draft but he's saying all the right things to believe that he's committed to making it. He's going to add some interest to watching this crop grow.

He has an Adam Goodes vibe to him to me......Adam went pick 43 in his draft, Isaac 44. Considered one of the greatest draft bargains ever.

Yep hopefully he will get time to develop his body and game before he is exposed? But everything he does indicates the second coming of Paddy Ryder, if he can become a similiar player we will have had a huge win?

Love this from Rossy. Clearly a very astute thinker and analyser of the game.
It’s refreshing to hear exactly how he sees the game changing and how our game style we’ll implement will suit where it’s going.
