I have this year gone more guns and rooks than ever before. I do still have a few mid priced players (those priced between $300K-$700K but fewer than in the past.
Currently have Yeo who should be great value assuming he remains healthy.
Bowes, but I'm not convinced about this pick. Will wait to see how he performs in their practice games and more importantly if he is selected round 1.
Lycett as R2 solely due to the uncertainty of a number of ruck options. I would expect to upgrade him as soon as rucks become clearer.
Fyfe is my only other in this range and he is hanging on by a thread. One poor medical report on him between now and round 1 and he is out.
Midfield comprises 4 premiums and 4 rooks on field. Probably the first time I've ever had that structure.
Let's see what the fantasy Gods deliver us come round 1. Hopefully lots of rooks to choose from.

Rucks are doing my head in so I agree with your ruck approach of going with a cheap option for R2 until they become clearer especially how Gawn & Grundy work together.
I think English would be top ruck scorer if he wasn't made of glass.
I've currently got Marshall as my R1. Pretty happy with that selection.

Currently have English and Marshall..English already has hamstring problems and has a brutal start to the season..smart move would be downgrade to Darcy Cameron or Scott Lycett but I will probably end up keeping English and watch him do a hammy round 1

I've settled on this team for the moment. Strong midfield, weak forwardline, fairly standard backline and rucks.
I would prefer a more balanced side. As we all know, midfield rookies are normally where we gain most of our cash so I'd be looking at fielding at least 3 of them. Maybe, move Phillipou to a playing mid in lieu of Newcombe/Berry and then add a Butters type as F4. Goater has played one game and I'm yet to be convinced he's worth $300K.

Been asking myself that for the last 5 years. Been a horrid year of fantasy for me so far. BBL SC into nba rdt and now going to get shafted in 3 formats of afl.

One spot left.
Following last night's performance, there's no way I can have Lycett as my R2. He looked absolutely useless.
Was going to go simply with a set up of 4 premiums and 4 rooks in the midfield but am now considering having my M5 as a midpricer. Both Worpel and Fyfe looked impressive last night. Worpel would have got to 100 had he not been put deep forward in the last quarter in order to give some others a bit of midfield time. Leaning towards him at the moment.

Agree with the Lycett comment and on that performance he would lose money so I think I'm gonna ride the Darcy train until we can get a look at how the rucks pan out.
I'm trying to steer clear of midpricers as there looks to be a few quality expensive rookies available, Mackenzie should be in 75% of teams before start of Rd1

New team. Selecting my backline based on who will likely play midfield which leads me to my top 5 and Constable is the odd man out, but he is set to play a lucrative half back role. Midfield is just about set. Not set on Flanders but i had the cash and not many players stand out at that price point. I may downgrade him and just start with a lot of cash in the bank. Thoughts are welcome

Haven’t watched a second of the practice games…can anyone shed light on rucks this year?? Seems like a nightmare…English barely had a pre season and has a brutal start to the season…Gawn and grundy too risky…Darcy Cameron been injured this pre season…Darcy has Luke Jackson at Freo…I had Witts last season he was infuriating with how many marks he dropped. Is it worth going for someone like Lloyd meek who should average 75 or pay up for English?
