Has to be co captains, we don’t have anyone strong enough to take the role one out.
100% agree.

The problem with the obvious candidates are the ability to talk the talk and walk the walk seem to be mutually exclusive.

If they lead with how they play, they seem to be quieter. Or if they're good talkers, they're not the greatest footballers.

Appoint one of each. One who can face the media like Jack does, and one to pull others up by their bootstraps.

The club spin is that it will be Jy so it’s pointless trying to pick a captain when it is already so clearly stated via media that it’s Jy.

He is the face of the club, he is the anointed heir apparent, kinda like Prince Charles is to QEII, but unlike the QEII and Charles conundrum we don’t want JZ hanging around.

Sadly based on the above we will end up with a guy who, whilst he does have his moments, isn’t really a true leader.

When did the media become the club admin? News to me.

Of the 4 listed I can see only one (McDonald) and I'm not certain he would be OK as its a huge task. Ziebell and Simpkin - No. LDU is too young to take ion the 2023 captaincy.

Is there anyone experienced out their that we could tempt?

I don’t know. Probably McDonald for a few years. Hopefully someone emerges in that time, to take the reins from him

Sucks that there isn't a glaringly obvious candidate. I'd leave it with Jack again - but acknowledge that it's his final year and he's expected to play VFL.

Rather that than give it to Jy/LMac and not be certain they can take the role on, but conversely I genuinely struggle to see someone 'developing' leadership over the next 12 months. It's arguably the most glaring hole in our list at the moment.

I’d have thought Cunninton or even Corr were better choices for a couple of seasons. LDU has really come from nowhere this year too. McKay another.

We have options but Simpkin and McDonald just aren’t it.
