Another week of team selection that means nothing until Friday night. Have to rush trades plans from 5pm to the first game depending on who gets the axe or not

Get rid of extended benches you flogs
You know my thoughts.......

Humphrey has the best JS and Bye ....he is $70K more than Sharp, who has the worst Bye and JS

I wouldn't consider Wardlaw this week ...big Sub risk, and ??? on his level of AFL fitness
Why is Rnd 12 the worst bye in your opinion? There is only 4 teams taking the bye that week and less players in the Top30 by Avg?

The more I think about it it's the worst because when we get to that bye we'll be wanting to shift out our Rd 12 rookies, and who will we be shifting them to? Some will go up, but some will go down.. to rookies on other byes. So you'd actually rather already now have rookies playing on the later byes (with good JS) who will play for you through the byes until you need to ditch them, and then bring in Rd 12 rookies in Rds 13/14/15 as needed.

Two options and one lateral one for me, have 145k banked going into the week:

Option A: Chandler down to a rookie
A) Sharp & 211k- I like it in light of Fagan's comments
B) Humphrey & 141k - hard not to be seduced by last week. But it's a hard role and they've a hard draw
C) Knevitt & 164k - A bit left field, but he's the best player of the bunch, building nicely, nice bye. Just J/S the concern

Mills & 356k (Sharp), 286k (Humph), 309k (Knevitt) up to a star
A) Oliver
B) Dawson
C) Laird
D) Merrett
---
Option B: Chandler sideways to a mid-pricer
A) Hobbs (-23k)
B) Coleman (-54k)
C) Stringer (-64k)
D) Perkins (-64k)

Mills & 122k (Hobbs), 91k (Coleman), 81k (Stringer/Perkins) up, but not all the way up
A) Bailey Smith
B) Whitfield
C) Sicily
D) McCluggage
---
Option C: Be a bit silly and go Mills and Chandler to 2 of McCluggage, Johanissen, Luke Jackson, Matt Kennedy, Angus Brayshaw
---

If Option A, I'm leaning towards Sharp & Laird and banking quite a bit for next week. Feels silly to jump on Oliver/Dawson at this time of year.

If Option B, I'm leaning towards Stringer & Sicily, even though I reckon Perkins is really interesting. Small chance I go Sharp & Sicily and bank a *load of cash.

Not sure why I'm attracted to Sicily so much this week - West Coast a nice matchup, good bye for me, and Saints next week screams 'jump on now' I guess. But think priced where he is he's solid value compared to nearly everything else which is priced correctly. I guess is he top 6? Daicos, Dawson, Doch clearly the big 3, probably at the moment it's Ziebell, Sheezel, Ryan, Stewart, Sicily, Sinclair, Lloyd pushing for the other 3 spots.

Any advice? I'm aware that the 'smart' play would be to go to Oliver or someone. If Cincotta isn't named it probably makes me more inclined to go mid pricers though.
You are Skip - that's just not complex enough even for you......................

Not if you have balanced out enough with that in mind - I think Rod 12 is a cracker - already know I'll have 18 on field plus rooks (6 at the moment and scaling back)

It was my view we had a lot of premo's in that R12 .....Marshall, Steele, Dunkley, Brayshaw, Serong, Darcy, Gulden, and until this week, Mills

Then the Rookies

My view, TBH, was skewed by most players I wanted to trade-in having the R12 Byes

Simmo has confirmed Chesser plays this week. Probably either starts on the bench or sub.

If Cincotta holds his spot it could be five green dots on the bench for me which seems higher end at this stage of the season

It's madness to consider going early on Fyfe, right? BE 124 & vs Geelong, so it's madness.

But clearly playing a midfield role this week with how that team has selected. He's good for 80-85 from this point onwards and priced 20 below that.

I guess have a sighter and wait for next week, but I reckon we'll have quite a few mid pricers 'pop' for next week so don't want to wait on them all.

Why anyone would consider Fyfe, ever, is beyond me.

Because through the byes we're looking for value, can take more risks with trades given the best 18 & extra trade each week, and he's currently priced 20 points below what his 'worst case' average was. Obviously there's doubt and I've talked myself out of thinking it (with his breakeven, he's perfect to have 2 sighters on and launch into at 500k out of his bye), but I reckon come round 12/13 there'll be a lot jumping on him.

Only reason I'm going Wardlaw over Humphrey is $. Can't do Sharp and Humphrey and keep it under budget.

Hobbs is the same price, lower BE, good role. Fyfe will be subbed out of this game, and then out for 5 week. Oh and then the sub coming back in.

What is Fyfe's "worst case average"? Considering he's averaging 33 and we're in round 10

Sure but you're still burning an extra trade to (in theory) end up on the same rooks, where your hope is that your Rd 12 rooks go up at a quicker rate than those others.

I am trading both Mills and Chandler and having similar thoughts, although I don't have the cash in the bank you do.

1.Mid price way (Hobbs/Kennedy)

2. Humphrey Smith/Whitfield

3. Wardlaw and Merrett

I am trading both Chandler and Mills but unfortunately don't have the bank that you do.

I have three main options I think:

1. Wardlaw & Merrett/Brayshaw
2. Humphrey & Whitfield, BSmith, Warner, Sic
3. MPM with Hobbs/Stringer and Kennedy

I’m I mad to be sucked in by Parnells 100 vs the saints. Would be a swap for Connor McKenna so feels lower risk. Looking to ride him and Hobbs for 4/5 weeks and leaves on Sheezel as rookie on field with JJ, Rat, Fiorini, Hobbs and Parnell as some mid price hit and hopes!
Parnell looked clean and a nice tile off the backline

If they both play, it'll be the first time I have no red dots. No loop the loop for me.

What is Fyfe's "worst case average"? Considering he's averaging 33 and we're in round 10
80 or breakdown

The odds are 50/50 split at present .....could go either way

i feel like people get blinkers on as to whos the flavour of the week ( i know i do)
All this talk of parker, ash, whitfield, baz...

i just looked back at my notes from last week - Matty rowell. 804K BE of 65, greatrnd 13 bye. last 3 109
my trades sorted !

Yes, because doesn't everyone play well agains the Saints? There was a lot of short kicking around the ground that game. He's not going to be scoring that most rounds. He'll still get you a price rise over the next few rounds, but he's 400k.
