Trades 2023 Fantasy Round 18 Trades

I have to do something similar as in doing my original trades, can't keep sidewaysing premos or I'll never get my team finished, if DCam, Sheldrick are out, have Serong too, then I'll be up to 15 injuries/suspensions, late outs

Original trades:
Wilmot > Banks
MJ > Sicily
Hewett & Fletcher looped to cover Serong
Banks/Chesser to cover Sheldrick if he's out, same cover if DCam is out, if they're both out then I'll keep Wilmot and trade Sheldrick (can't keep MJ as I'd end up with a Fwd donut) might just trade Sheldrick anyway because even if he plays he probably wont have that inside mid role.

Just that sort of year, and I'm not even mad anymore. Already hard enough, but Christian and his batsh*t crazy agenda, has made it borderline impossible to get ahead this year - when combined with all of the aforementioned factors.

The only 'under-priced option' i like is Mills but if i hold Serong i can't bring in a mid or i will have 9 'premo' mids the following week.

Woke up with a broken nose and 4 stitches and this game is still my biggest headache of the week.

Same ish for me except for my nose and the stitches.
Add to that Lloyd & it’s a bit of a shizen position.
Luckily have a few loop rookies but feels bad.
Thinking about Flanders/Mills for DC & Lloyd to Sic/Doc
Means holding Ashcroft and Serong
Looping Sheldrick?/Windhager/Wilmot/Hewitt/Maric over 2 positions

Well through some complicated DPP movements I may be able to get a full squad this week. It’s not gonna be pretty but it’s something.

Field Jackson in the ruck spot
Field one of Maric/Sturt
Move Sheldrick to the FWD bench
Move a DEF/MID to the mids
Trade in a DEF and an underpriced MID cover player

Sheldrick 'non weight bearing' doesn't sound great. And even if it is a one week injury, no guarantee he comes straight back in with Warner also returning. Annoying as was a perfect loop option this week, but wasn't a candidate to be on my field so I guess can't complain. Just worried about whichever 2 of Keays/Cameron/Himmelberg I keep this week so having loop options would have been nice.

Guess I can loop Wilmot D7, Robertson M9, Windhager F7 this week, and use Uwland for D/M, and if Windhager's score is worth taking, edit the Sheldrick trade to bring in a Forward 200k permazero (Dewar maybe?). But will mean I have to make a call on field/trading Darcy Cam before Windy plays.

lol so Sheldrick lasts one week in my team. Paid 370k for him for one score and one price rise. Must every single rookie I pick get injured or dropped after 1 game?? I actually cannot remember any rookie other than Cincotta I got during the year that made me decent money and played 3+ games. All my cash gen basically came from my rd 1 starting rookies and midpricer spuds I picked up along the way

Cooper Harvey still the best of the rookie options ?

Would like to create a MID/DEF link by getting in Banks, and on paper he looks like he could be a good scorer, but didn't do much in his first game.

• Averaged 75 last year in a 0 CBA role
• Averaged 73 in his first year in the side in 2021, but that average was from 68% TOG
• First 11 weeks of 2021 he had a CBA role (avg 33%) and averaged 77 in that time period on a 66% TOG.
• No CBAs in 2022, but this year averaged 79 in the 4 games he's had >20%
• Plays Friday night, so good loop option.

Mark O’Connor could be one, not the greatest Fantasy scorer, however playing on a wing more recently and he’s getting consistent 70s. Has DEF/MID, well set in the Cats 22 and lowish BE (I think in the 40s) too. $499k.

As a one week proposition, sure.
But there is a good chance he is gone the following week so i'd be ready to trade.

Yep. And with no Clarry & Petracca forward more, I fully expect them to acknowledge their midfield might be a bit of a limitation and go into damage control a bit.

Which probably involves recalling James Harmes and getting him to hard tag Neale to try and neutralise the midfield which they've often tried before - Neale had 79, 109 and 101 in their three matchups last year, and 94 in round 2 this year. Not always tagged, but gets solid attention at the very minimum from them.

Yeh - but if Dunkley is back next week, which I would expect, is there much point?

Holding onto MJ to see if he is given a license to just play full time mid with bulk CBAs. They are gonna lose anyway so may as well give him a proper go.

I don't know what's worse....Steele now becoming good again when I trade him after a putrid average in the prior 4 weeks or getting Steele back in this week and watching him return to being a spud and giving me 4 more weeks of punishment. Think the latter would be even more shattering for me and maybe it's worth waiting one more week to be sure he is "back"

I would trade Sheldrick over MJ given it sounds like this ankle injury could be multiple weeks. I don't know what rookies you are fielding this week but MJ without Serong might be one of the best to field this week.

After much DPP movement and decision and with the four outs I’ve had this week, I need to maximise as much points as possible, so I’ve brought in two backline cheapie merchants, one premo, one cheap. I could have gone with Hewett (Elijah) for cash but I don’t want to risk a 40.

The ball will 100% spend a lot of time down back for the Eagles and these two should cash in as a result. Hough cashed in quite a lot last week and hopefully he does this week.

Logue a defender is out for Nth - can we live in hope of a back to the role he had?
