I bought a Lions membership after they secured a home Prelim. Discounted late season to $50 which gave me a Priority 2 for the ballot.
Just been offered a Category 4 seat.
$50 Lions membership (Priority 2) = Category 4 seat.

$900+ Club 5/Legends membership (Priority 1) = Category 5, 6, 7 or restricted viewing seat.

The system is ****ed.

Brilliant, love your thinking and if I didn’t have P1 I’d steal it for our next gf

We were clearly told on email and snail mail, that if you are P1 and select no standing room, it forfeits your right to guaranteed tickets.....

Yeah that only tracks if all reserved seats were exhausted before all P1 requests could be met. If any P3's got a reserved seat, then the system is clearly broken.

Sorry for intrusion but i know for a fact that people who had essendon as their support team in AFL members received tickets. Go figure.
AFL members got to the gold any club support allocation, all above board and in line with their stated process (even if I think it’s bullshit that non-club try prioritised over Club)

In a way, however where people applied for multiple tickets they’re balloted together, which may mean slipping down categories in order to met the number in the group. Regardless of the event if there’s high demand it’s much easier to get smaller groups or individual tickets.

Thanks. That’s really helpful.

Way I see it, 30,000 gold members, Collingwood had 7,000 as of last year.
And we get a min of 13,000 seats allocated for AFL members.

Also the expected influx of Collingwood members from 2010, 2011 join ups are still on the waiting list so the numbers shouldn’t have changed much from last year.

Brisbane won’t have many Gold Members.

Not all Collingwood gold members can and will attend, for various reasons.

So all AFL gold members of Collingwood or Brisbane club support can go if they want to.

Under current numbers there is no combination of teams that supporting club Gold members would miss out.

A Collingwood v Carlton GF would have meant far more having to sit in the nosebleeds and barely any neutrals attending, but still everyone would get one.

106,000 members, and club allocation is 17,000 tickets, doesn’t quite equate to any form of fairness.
Sorry to all those who may have missed out on a ticket. Hopefully, and l'm sure all the Pie fans will, enjoy the day and see our 16th premiership won, and celebrate that after the game......
Definitely the league needs to look at increasing the member allocation per club, who are in the GF, and let majority of the loyal supporter bases the privilege, of watching their team in the GF.

Should not matter for people on P1
Regardless, that's what it said. It said very clearly, that tickets could not be guaranteed if you did not select 'any' instead of 'no standing room'.

I'm also Priority 1 and there was no way I was taking any chances missing out on a ticket. So I selected 'any'.

Any MCC members on here who missed out on the ballot like I did? What time would we realistically need to join the queue? I got ballot seats in 2018, so I’m just wondering if anyone can speak from the experience of having to queue in recent years.

EM, I chose best available, no standing room. Not sure what the "any" category was? I had 8 P1 barcodes to register and we have Cat 3 tickets based on the amount debited to my CC. Below is from the email I received once I had registered.

Collingwood Members please note:
This purchase is your registration in the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final Collingwood member ballot. It is not a ticket.
Should Collingwood qualify for the 2023 Toyota AFL Grand Final, tickets will be allocated based on your Priority Group:
Priority 1 Member Allocation - There are sufficient tickets to cover all members in this group who register. Should Collingwood play, you will be allocated a ticket (subject to payment being approved and ticket preference selected at time of registration).

You and all the other P1 members should also have been guaranteed a ticket, just not any specific category. It is very strange if P1 members missed out!!

I'm not at home with the info in front of me, but there were 2 selections for Priority 1. One was excluding standing room. It was advised NOT to choose that one as they could NOT guarantee your ticket if all seats were exhausted by the time your registration was processed.
