He can do worse. This year hes averaged 16 with the bat at 66 SR and 66 with the ball at 6.6 ER.

Smith is at his best at 3 but we've got three better, more explosive top order players and he can still play a role at 4.

If he’s not at 3 drop him the lower the order more it’s a waste of time

Our bowling attack is a step off the best nations in this world cup and will contribute to why we miss the SF's or get bundled out in one.

100% agree actually have less concerns about our batting but we already have our only frontline spinner with a crook back

How about a batsman instead of one of our 3 allrounders?
You have to have 1-2 allrounders. Min 5 bowlers dictates that.
Have Marsh as one, Maxwell as the other. Or bring in Green.

Stoinis is expendable.

Considering our batting lineup has made 177, 199, 5/215 in a chase before this, I have serious concerns about it.

David isn't the incumbent.
He should be anywhere near the ODI side.

He's a T20 slogger whose a dreadful fielder.

There’s a role for an out and out slogger. Is there a better option not sure. Hopefully someone like Ollie Davies for example could potentially do that role in a few years.

Our likely best result is a SF loss. We are unlikely to finish top three on the table, but just gotta scratch and fight our way to that fourth spot and from there the nature of 50-over cricket is that you're always a chance to a two-game shootout.

I mean you don't have to, I know they want options, but yes I like the idea of 1 allrounder. Marsh is batting well enough at the moment to pass as a batsman and Maxwell as the allrounder, but we are a batsman light thanks to their ridiculous notion that they need to carry 3 allrounders. This is all in spite of the evidence over the last 6 years of Marcus Stoinis being a List A cricketer at best with his average below 20 and bowling average above 45. The luckiest man to have played cricket for Australia.

For whom? He's going to be more productive at 4 than anyone else we have. After many years we've finally found Marsh's schtick, I don't know why we'd move from it. He is a game changer in this role.

Our tournament will ride on Warner, Head and Marsh getting heavy runs at high pace at the top of the innings and getting bibs and bobs from the others. There's going to be times when we lose early wickets and Smith will have an important role to play as more of that anchor type.

Inglis is like most West Aussies. Not the answer.
Just have no faith in him as a batsman, let's put it this way, most on here ragging on Marnus.

Would back Marnus over Inglis all day long.
Don't care who takes the gloves. He should be the first batsman swapped. Not Marnus.
Marnus over Inglis?
You're an imbecile.

Whilst true our best bat is to come back in. If this is our best bowling attack we have issues and Starc has basically lost his yorker.

Our openers smacked 284 of our 367 so its impossible for our middle and lower order to have screwed up worse. News people needed starting with an SOS to Ashton Turner.

Pretty fair point, only one you could maybe excuse was maxwell who was sent out there to basically tee off from ball one and messed it up.
Will still be enough but they are minimum 35-40 shorter than what they should have made, probably more
