You need to take the boofhead factor into account.
The main requirement is distance from feet to fingertips.
Beats me why they don't measure that. Puts Jason Blake way further up the pecking order.

Generally a big head doesn't help you.

Ah the Simpkin effect. Battle looks proper tall Sam Fisher has a big melon. I'd back Battle to have a much higher reach. Sam Fisher was solid and hard to push off his spot though.

Though while I do understand what you are saying, Blake is not an example of it.

He had a very good leap. Which is also why at times he was used as a second ruck.

So he was not big fingertips to feet, but yes was big at fingertips to ground level once airborne.

That and plus he great judgement. Which as Wilkie also shows is a great asset to make the most of your height.

Looks like a normal sized neurocranium to me...

Dosent have a long neck either

I've seen him around before didn't look overly tall to me (I'm 6'2).

He is 6’3 which was probably the height of must chb I’d say in the late 2000’s. Anyway some talls play smaller and play taller. He like most chb even back required help.

It was always going to be the reply. Strangely I believe both have every single person on here covered and by a huge margin. Sinclair back was a terrible idea by ratts. I wonder battle has played in match simulation under another coach? As they say you should never ask questions you don’t know the answer to. The answer is back all preseason. Can change of course but certainly hasn’t yet.
Each to their own opinion l suppose. I think you're attributing a fair bit too much intelligence to rather mundane things.
Ratts l believe is a good assistant but not able to form novel ideas. Richo has just been in the industry long enough to be able to mouth the words.

If you get to the top job you are in the top few percent in the land but only the top few percent of the top few percent are good enough to get you in to challenge mode. They (Ratto and Richo) aren't hopeless but if you have a mediocre list and hire mediocre coaches you get sustained mediocrity.

I reckon Geelong has a good ordinary list but some of the individual quality gets lost in a systemised environment. They played a lot of lesser lights through the middle to preserve their older talent in peripheral roles and tweaked their game plan to move the ball faster and did what they haven't been able to for ages.

I'm really looking forward to what we look like with a structured environment and a new system. It won't all work and it will take some more than tweaking with us but it's going to be an investment in our future regardless. We probably need to have half a dozen players go up a level to move forward a long way but at least drafting has stepped up.

Mundane? Putting a player in a key position seems rather important so you would hope the coach puts them in the best position for the player and the side.

You don’t win a premiership with a “good ordinary list”

Sinclair has been doing a lot of work with the midfield group.
I can’t see I’ve seen more than 2 match simulations but the two I saw he was certainly playing the same role as last year. It’s hard to these things to seriously though because there isn’t close to 36 on the ground. I think it would be bloody stupid to move your best player last year to a position we finally look like we have depth in. And he is a back midfielder anyway.

Height isn’t everything…Wilkie at 191 cm is clearly the best one on one defender on our list!!
Van Es is one I’m keen to see how he develops, he’s got height, strength, vertical leap and speed!

He’s capable of playing dual roles..we desperately need to mix up our bland, vanilla midfield.

We will with owens windhanger gresh jones etc. we just can’t start Ross Steele and crouch together to often. A couple of reasons I don’t think sinclair should play in centre square is I think his best position for himself and the side is hbf and also I don’t think he isnt a great centre clearance player. I like him running to receive after the bounce.

so you should only ask about stuff you already know

gotcha

Ross, Steele & Crouch we’re a constant under Ratts..drove me nuts his lack of vision!!

There is 3 players I'm struggling to find a spot for, Billings, Cordy and Paton.

Who does Cordy push out, Battle?
I reckon Webster keeps Paton out.
The half forward line is jam packed for options and this could be the year Billings finds it hard to keep his spot...which is a great thing.

Yes, mundane.
Taking a poo in the right spot in your house is also very important, but that does not imply intelligence in getting it right.
