when you are winning you can't bag umps, when losing its like well they are just better

Losing but playing like the last 5 minutes for the rest of the game would be a different story

Papley putting his head over it and drawing a free was a spark

Now do we have any all australian midfielders we could play in the middle

When we win a clearance and move it quickly (rare) or transition well out of defence or off a turnover, our forward line looks dangerous enough. It would take a massive momentum shift but technically, we are not out of this.

if only Rowy could find more ball, looks so good when he gets it but 6 touches is disappointing
Wouldn't surprise me if he's playing a defensive role.

Gould sub was ******* stupid in the first place. Imaging being 2 kd's down in the first place coming up against the best 2 KF's going round and starting a KD as sub. ******* brain fart if I've ever seen one.
Almost as bad as playing a clearly severely injured Reid in the most important game of the year.

*ing hate the spare back for us which is allowing the cats to have an extra at the contest. That's just letting geelong dominate in the mids. It's a poor strategy & not a good defensive move. If you want a defensive move then man up at the contest & win the ball. That's the BEST defence.
Unfortunately it’s exhibit A in the Longmire coaching manual. Always has been. When you have a game unfolding in this fashion it’s back to man on man across the ground.

OK. Half time. Emotions down. Logical brain.

1. Gould sub and Mills FB: bad tactical call. Geelong forwards are too big for that and it showed. They were marking everything. Hopefully Gould on now releases Mills forward

2. I hope Roberts is OK.

3. Beaten in contested ball again. Either this is a tactic (crap tactic) or we need to change up something. Clearances should be going our way given Ladhams' dominance but even then we get beaten at the ball

4. Despite the ball living in our back half, nothing from lloyd or Ollie so far. Being well tagged out of it

5. When our mids are being beaten, they do go a bit soft particularly our wingers. J.Mac and Stephens have been poor in this regard all year

Better 2nd term (particularly last ten minutes) but we need to start winning some hard ball. Let Rowbottom be an extractor. Please. That'll let Chad do his thing. Or tell Chad to win a ball and not stroll down the wing into the most obvious tackle ever

We are absolutely out of it. We can safely write this one off. Coming back from 50 points down in Geelong would be an all-time upset. It's not gonna happen. We don't have the weapons to pull that off. Best we can hope for is an honourable 25 point loss.
