I think the Swans have more options to go through the middle than the Giants

Fair enough, but when you factor in the price differential too I don't think their scoring will be that different.

How much more bullish are you on Kelly than Macrae long term?

I have both, and personally reckon Kelly's a top 8 guy for sure, and Macrae makes me nervous. But hesitant to trade him this week with Treloar out (but if he goes 90-105 again, it'll make me want to trigger him more).
Don't trade Macrae. Was diabolical last week and still got 107.. can't say that about many players. You know he will always weasel his way to a score

With Dunks gone and hammies Treloar unable to stay on the park he should be at the coalface even more this season. Before last year had 4 straight seasons averaging 115+ and was the #1 overall player during that time. How quickly we can forget

tl;dr can't see how he doesn't go 110+ this year

Sounds like nobody really has any idea if Gulden is playing or not

Even if he’s named, best to have a plan in case he’s a late withdrawal on Sunday - bearing in mind a lot of the popular bench rookies will have already played by then. A decent E might be important.

Yeah, there's a reason I picked him. The only knock would be if he's just....not very good anymore. Nearly 29 and 200 games, sometimes the cliff comes early. But with the Gulden rumour, makes it hard to even consider the aggressive move.

Trade 1 is going to be Stewart to Hayden Young (87k banked). Slim chance that becomes Richards or Day if I need some cash for move two or Dawson/Sinclair/Sicily if there's enough cash leftover.

Trade 2 is the perplexing one - any thoughts? Kelly currently on field, have Hollands' 77 as emg. Bruhn needs to go next week. Figure it'll be one of Horne, Ziebell, Byrnes, Powell, Perkins or similar to replace him. Already have LDU, Worpel, Setterfield, Callaghan in the mids. And happy to avoid Sheed.

Option 1: F. Greene, C. Chesser or B. Uwland (if omitted) to Chandler, or Heath to Samson Ryan. 32-60k banked. Keep Kelly, take Hollands' 77

Option 2: Kelly to Tom Green. Enter next week with 195k banked for Bruhn. Join the crowd. Might only gain me 15-35 points though.

Option 3: Kelly to Coniglio. 103k banked. Flip Cogs forward next week, open up another midfield mid pricer to replace Bruhn - Duursma, NWM, Ash, E Curnow, Stephens, Bergman

Option 4: Kelly to Horne-Francis or Ziebell. 405k banked. Can put on Bruhn next week to get (depending on the other trade) my pick of the mids

Option 5: A. McGrath to Redman (38k), Richards (146k), Day (241k), Keep Kelly, take Hollands' 77

Thinking about this even more in light of the Gulden news. Probably depends on how Pedlar goes as fwd EMG, but could go Kelly to Coniglio and DPP switch them to take Hollands' 77 for Gulden (if Pedlar sucks). Or just Gulden straight down to a Horne/Ziebell type this week and go Bruhn up a bit next week.

If Gulden is named, still no farkin idea. I think Chandler is the safest play, and it's probably a bit early to write off McGrath but missing Green could prove a competition losing pick.

Is the top one better in the long run if im Keeping Kelly? Will be looping Hollands for Kelly's score also. Essentially puts myself a week ahead as long as Kelly returns next week but id be keeping a 77 over a Dawson/Sicily score.

You're effectively sacrificing anything Dawson scores over 77 (let's say 25) to turn Powell into Callaghan. If Callaghan outscores him by 5 points a week for the next 5, you've broken even and banked 70k for the trouble.

Call me crazy but im going Rowell over Green. 25 CBA’s from 88% TOG. To manage 109 against the swans in those conditions (no marks available being dewy) is a great effort. Hes finally had a pre season and we know his ability and from his draft plus that first year before getting injured.

Hes a great POD in my eyes when everyone else is going Green or Setters.

Go with your gut, you may well be spot on

As devils advocate I'd say Green managed to score 128 in conditions that saw last year's highest scorer bust out a 57. Plus the dewy conditions ij the GC game would've suited Rowells game, he's not a big marker anyway so the more clearances the better for a guy like him.

Rowell had a ton r1 last year then dropped a 40 the next week. Good luck

I’ve got Gulden M8. Will E Chandler tonight and if Gulden misses he just rotates with Flanders to take the better score

Hollands safe cover for Gulden this week just in case, although I could just take the 77 over whatever the Pou might get?

Yeh Gulden to M8 for me. If he misses I get Hollands 77.

If Chandler goes large tonight Gulden swaps back down into forwards for Chandler score. Pedlar currently F6.

Genuinely confused about my trades this week. Scored okay last week apart from Laird captain.

Chesser to Uwland?
Mcgrath to Daicos?

Nothing else really standing out for me atm. 134k in the bank.

I can make the same trades whilst Keeping Kelly. Means id field Chandler as I didn't put Hollands on the bench.

Wondering if keeping Kelly could be a good thing or do I just trade anyway.
Same situation for me ....I'm worried about Kelly first game back as well

There's a compelling story to hold him .....but I have 2 trades & I'm damn well going to use them ....that said, it depends on a) do you have all the must have rookies ....b) who are you trading Kelly to ?

I traded him, because it allowed me to get Ziebell & Setterfield .....one rookie off the field

Who should I cull to Chandler? Chesser or Greene? Chesser has a better role but he could be dead next week or sub?
Greene IMHO .....he'll have spike games, Chesser though I expect to improve his output ....and as you say, his role is better

Yeah can see Chesser floating around everywhere on the wing at Optus and dropping a 90 on me if I cull him.

My last option is pass on Chandler and go Flanders to your boy Ziebell and break him. ;)

Time to panic

Was trying to figure out a way to loop Hollands, now it looks like it was the right decision to E him with all the uncerntainty around Gulden.

Swap him with Dunks from the mids - happy days (not really but could be worse).
