That top 8 thing got made a whole lot tougher ..they traded 2 home games to western Australia next seasonNorth would have to make the 8 for it to be a break even.
This could be a heads roll situation if they finish bottom 4.
can't trade 2026 picks this year
tigers didnt need to pick tomorrow
27 and 28 for our f1 would've been more beneficial for both sides than the f2

Man. Just say you don’t like Richmond, it’s a lot less characters lolI wouldn't say that.
The North pick trade was amazing (stupid north).
But I wouldn't touch trainor the way the afl concussion panels are now he's a Nathan Murphy waiting to happen (nice kid but id be staggered if he plays 50 games). Smillie is a risk because he lacks football IQ and while I love hotton the acl is a worry. Faull is the type of player that in a good side could be a valuable role player but in a poor side might be a complete bust. I think Lalor over jagga Smith might be the worst choice of the lot.
Armstrong is good but doesn't justify the rest.
I was quite staggered they didn't take travaglia or Reid frankly-theyve gone for a lot of risk for a team that absolutely has to nail this rebuild before lassie comes in.
Brb, just changing my username to SexGodyou don't get the name nostradamus for no reason

I think we might be able to get another teams F1 for 28. Geelong would surely offer theirs, but hopefully we can do better than that with a team less likely to make finals. Maybe Essendon throw up Melbourne's F1, that would be worth a gamble. They could go very well or fall apart completely.
Not sure what else they could have done they took best available at there picks
I guess I don’t really follow it enough to debate it, but most of the guys you mentioned were rated in the top 10 during the year. Time will tell I supposeI actually do like Richmond. I just think they made very odd choices for a rebuilding club.
Essendon will trade for shanahan at 28 I reckon.

Essendon recruiters looking at Richmond for that coveted Pick 28 tomorrow:jealous
That’s a very negative take on our haul IMOI wouldn't say that.

We had 27 before. We could've let Kako eat up 11 and then used 27. Except in that scenario we could've had a chance at calling bluff.
Your logic defeats the entire purpose of us trading out to not have 11 (which is now Melb's F1) eaten up by Kako and having our next pick in the 20's.
If I was a Richmond supporter, I would be over the moon with all those selections so the club definitely nailed it IMO.That’s a very negative take on our haul.
- Lalor has bigger upside than Jagga Smith IMO. Unless you have an outright number 1 talent like a Harley Reid type in the draft (there were none this year), you’d rather upside at pick 1. Yes, there is risk involved, but when these type of risks pay off, they pay off in spades.
Let’s put it this way - I’d hate seeing Lalor become a star at another club more than seeing Smith become a star at another club.
- Your concerns about Trainor is fair enough. Concussions are a big topic right now, and Trainor slid to a pick in the 20s for a very good reason.
- Hotton’s ACL isn’t that much of a concern to me. He’s still young
- Smillie has assets we desperately need. He is strong and can burst away from the centre and kick a goal/hit a target inside 50. We seriously lack mids with those traits. Lots of upside as well.
Would’ve been happy with Travaglia at 6 and Reid at 14, but what we have’s pretty good too. At least we can say we’ve pick a high potential group
Don't tease North supporters friend, it's the only success they have ever had in the past 10-15 yearsCoveted. Lmao. North being North.
I think its more the fact they could of done this deal in trade period and gotten a much better pick.North have had that many high picks lately, they can afford to trade 1 away for a player they obviously wanted to get. I don't think its that bad for them, obviously works for us getting a good pick for next year after using our top 6 picks this year.
Each club has a different draft board. You have no idea how the club rates Shanahan. That trade is irrelevant now.Oh so back then it wasn't a deep draft? Even then Shannahan is not worth pick 11.
We turned 11 into Melb's F1 so that our first selection after Kako wasn't in the 20's. We gave up our chance to call bluff (which if pulled off could've got us Kako and 11) for that.
thought it was a bit early for jonty but i guess if you flipped him and armstrong most people would of be fineIf I was a Richmond supporter, I would be over the moon with all those selections so the club definitely nailed it IMO.
