FYI

Will add a 2024 NAB Draft & Trade tracker thread, stickied.

Tag me when we have a confirmed trade/draft and I will update the thread accordingly

I can think of plenty of "worst cases" here.

Coming off an ACL, players are far more likely to do another one, and he relies on speed/change of direction for his game. It's a massive massive risk.
Darcy Jones to GWS, he did his knee in draft year, ironically he went pick 21 in 2022. Two years later and he looks to be a real find, still moves very well too.

It is definitely a risk. In fact, if you have two similar ranked players you will side against Hotton. If you think he can be a genuine game changer then 100% worth the risk. I’m still unsure, talent is definitely there. Small sample size of form makes it even more challenging to assess him against the others.

Would take Ollie Hannaford if available. I love how competitive he is, pace to burn, both things we don’t have an abundance of. Seems a perfect hybrid between West and Weightman.

Loved his grand final performance in midfield, also the 6 goal game against Falcons in the Quarter Final. He single handedly sinks the Falcons. Check it out.

Given the restructure of our talls
I wouldn't be against picking up alex dodson at our second pick
I would. I'm off taking rucks with early-ish draft picks.
I'd take a mature age kid on the rookie list and we look to be taking a ruck at least every second year. There are a few "late starters" (or Crossley) we should grab as a rookie.

There are two 18yo rucks in line for rookie picks that suit our game style to an absolute T in this draft

Really like Sulzberger late. Speed, power and a great build. Plenty to work with as an inside mid.
Mine is Luke Kennedy. Elite endurance, very good user on both feet, good ball winning capacity and versatile. Won a senior VAFA B&F last year and came second to Ashcroft in the B&F for the Dragons this year too.

Someone mentioned we've interviewed him and were impressed.

What’s the knock?
Probably about average in most other athletic areas apart from his endurance. He is a footballer first type player. Also pretty hard for him to get exposure with Sandringham's midfield being the way it is this year would probably see him higher up boards if he was at another NAB League club.

What do you feel his ceiling would be? seems very developed already.

Think his coach at Sandy likened him to Alex Neal-Bullen as the sort of Mr fix it sort of player across the flanks and bit in the midfield. Honestly would be pretty happy with him becoming something like that.

He'd likely be a like for like with Caleb Daniel list wise albeit a bit taller (as most humans are)

Hannaford seems like just another Weightman clone?

Any scope to become a midfielder?

Already plays midfield at times and does very well so yes definitely. He is more aggressive defensively too.

But regardless I'd happily take another Weightman at 20

Are we close enough to the draft, for any ITK’s to have info on who we’re interested in?

Where’s Smiley Boy and Jake the BulldogMuscle?
Going to be very difficult this year to get any info. So open at our pick when there are suggestions a Reid, Berry or Hotton could be there. Super exciting for the list management group though. Going to earn their dollars this year.

Pick 17: Ollie Hannaford
Pick 25: Harrison Oliver
Pick 35: Angus Clarke
Pick 48: Sam Davidson

Probably my dream haul. Would like a pure midfielder, but not overly enamoured by any around our picks. Think our back flanks are being overlooked in terms of list need. Would like to see Davidson on a wing early
