Eli Manning was picked and traded. Not sure it matters.

Eli Manning was traded by the Chargers to the Giants after the selection was made.

FTR...I received the offer, I didnt propose it.
I think that trade was only allowed as both players were drafted. Don’t believe you can trade a non-rookie for a just drafted rookie or for others picks.

Don’t think it’s happened in Empire before.

Coiilncidentally, Tee Higgins was traded by Gorillas to the Raiders during the draft. Why hes been on 1m salary the last 5 years.
For a just drafted player?

There is no rule in the NFL forbidding trading of players/rookies/etc. Pretty sure that you can trade whatever you want...even coaches

Higgins was a just-drafted player and got traded for a future 1st and maybe another player.

Z.Wilson also i seem to recollect. Couldve been a vet RB offered in that trade too

Weird thing to get hung up on regardless Baz. Don't see any issues or advantages/disadvantages
No harm in asking the question. Where’s the hang up? Why not trade before the pick is done?

I’m genuinely intrigued from a NFL perspective. Always found it weird in the NBA
Im guessing JShut used that pick as incentive to pry Higgins from me, especially once Nabers and Odunze and Harrison were gone. Had read in the forum i liked Daniels, needed an elite WR prospect, missed out, and just ad libbed that after securing Daniels, id be inclined to accept a trade. My guess makes sense because hes already well set at QB1 and QB2. You dont need 18 QBs like some people ahem cough cough

I thought you were saying there was something shifty going on. I think Jeebs played it smart, seemed a strange pick at first to take Daniels with Stroud and Cousins, but he knew GG needed a QB and he wanted Higgins not Bowers. It could have backfired and he was stuck with Daniels but a deal was reached. Risky strategy, but it worked out. Got his guy.

Apologies....

2020.....Gorillas drafted Higgins 2.01 in May and traded him in October for a 1st and two 2nds.

But I do have a feeling a just-drafted player traded during draft has happened in Empire at least once, maybe twice or max three times.

Yep sounds reasonable …something I’ve never even thought of. Personally when it came to my pick in that situation I’d post here and say pick 5 on the table for a decent WR and watch offers come in. Although not many as generous as gg.

But if gg knocks it back then you try and pawn Daniels elsewhere everyone else knows you may be a bit desperate and offer unders.

Sorry all.
I work in the evening and someone has proposed a trade and I've replied back just now.

Hopefully I get an answer by morning sometime and by the time I'm up I will pick or trade before I head off to work tomorrow.
