Not sure why people are so desperate for Dempsey to be honest. Could easily throw up a 30 next week. Sure makes a bit of cash but he's already pretty expensive.
His eye test has been pretty good though. We might say anyone could throw a 30, when priced at $300k.

Have similar thoughts. Especially if you're getting off Clark to get him (like I would be). There's every chance Clark pops a score in the next couple of weeks and then what? You're chasing to get him back?

Bowes has done a calf (1 week) and Bruhn is a test so every chance Clark's role is expanded this week.

Not like Adelaide away when they will be smarting from their performance last week is the easiest fixture either for a young forward.

If he plays like he did on the weekend he is best 22 easily.

Anyone could, but particularly a rookie forward I would have thought.

I don't have Newcombe, but I know the playing group has had some Covid go through it, so maybe Newcombe's lethargy is related.

I do have Grundy. I'm going B in that choice. I have Jackson who will become R2 so I can get Billings as a FWD. My main thinking is not that Grundy is bad, I think he'll do well enough at the SCG with a little less running. It is more that Grundy has the Rnd 5 bye and Billings has the Round 6 and this should allow me to go Billings / Jackson to either English or Marshall (probs Marshall) - when we will have a whole bunch of DPP's drop. Billings access to good scores looks possible.

Good luck with your decision.
Cheers for the reply. I like your thinking. Right now I only have Gawn and Howes with the round 6 bye, while I have Heeney, Roberts, Grundy, Daicos round 5. So your move would also even them up. I think you’ve swayed me. If billing’s spuds up now I can blame you, which relives some stress 😂

Happy to go with this I think. Wanted to give Duke another week but this is one of the few ways I could get Hore as a Gibcus replacement and it’s cover for Zilliams this week and Whit next week. The Adelaide mids I feel will go nuts against an inexperienced Geelong midfield.

If a $200k DEF comes up I’ll change to that. Josh Draper from Freo looks the closest to playing

Pick 2 from 3:

A. Grundy to Xerri
B. Wines to Bonner
C. Reid to Dempsey (Utility)
I own Bonner but think if you don't it's worth waiting to see how Sinclair impacts him. If Sinclair doesn't pass fitness test then go for it. Think C is best of the 3 and second trade Sinclair dependent.

Down to the pretty generic two options of trade

Grundy>Xerri
Coff>Massimo

Newc>Bonner
Reid>Massimo

Other option is to loop Howes on if its a 60's score again and wait a week to trade Coffield to Zwil but then im not sure what my trades would be

Probably not the smartest play but might skip Dempsey and hope Clark gets better in the coming weeks

Wines>Bonner or D'Ambrosio
Newc>Serong or Merrett

Would prefer Billings to Bonner/D'Ambrosio but that means the best I can get Newc to is Laird who I'm not sure about yet

Talk that Bruhn might miss with his ankle sprain, so Clark might get a lot more minutes this week after easing into it last week.

Scored a 68 during the community series, and averaged over a hundred during juniors - so he has a fantasy game. Just needs the confidence/exposure/minutes to be able to show it to his full potential.

Mannagh might get a gig after his nice cameo last week too.

Resisting the temptation to jump on Serong is so hard after having him at M1 for so much of preseason.

I can easily find the cash to do it but after starting too many failed midpricers, I'm behind the eight ball and probably need to prioritise cash gen to make it back to the pack.

Going to go:
  • Amon to Sharp; and
  • Reid to Dempsey via DPP.

Leaves a lot of cash in the bank but I got a lot of fixing up to do.

I had my first AFL fantasy nightmare of the season last night. Steele was a late out with illness on Thursday after I put the VC on him. I really hope its not one of those dreams that come true.

'One of'? How many of your dreams come true?

Sometimes I have deja vu type dreams that end up seeming very similar to stuff that happens in real life. But I don't realise it in the moment until after it happens. Very rarely though.

Due to my structure I cannot trade without potentially hurting my team, there are players that I have great interest in due to their potential.

Yeo > Ambrosio, Jordan > Billings - Yeo has a tough stretch and to be honest I don't see him carrying the Eagles midfield like first thought.

Nic Martin > Bonner, Lazzaro > Billings - This is sideways which I hate I'm iffy on both Martin and Bonner but it grants me to get rid of Lazzaro for Billings which I believe is huge.

Zwilliams > Ambrosio , Lazzoro > Dempsey. - another sideways for cash gen.

Really stuck. Only bad player was fisher
Unless I trade him to billings/Bonner (role flag) or Massimo, I have to double down. Or Grundy to xerri, and rook to Dempsey. Surely fisher can bounce back from a bad game.
