It was a panic move by the NCAA on states passing laws allowing players to be paid and not lose NCAA eligibility.

They just took the boosters out of the dark and made it infinitely worse. Because now it's not under the table more are taking part or setting up NIL collectives where fans donate

Bear is a ****wit. He left Georgia because he is a lazy campaigner and didn't want to put in the work. Talk out of USC since he got there is much the same thing. He has the ability to be a 1st round pick but unless he puts in the work wherever he ends up next he will become another one of those highly rated recruits who don't become anything.

NIL was meant to be about players being able to cash in on their name and image, in which the NCAA did not allow.

Instead its turned into a full on exploitation for recruiting reasons. At this rate, you will see a divide open up between the rich and smaller colleges. Which is exactly the thing that has ruined Football/Soccer world wide.

The NCAA needs to fast install some rules to regulate. As for those who say players deserve to get paid because "Its a job". Not its is not. NFL is a job. Almost all college sports is a side thing to academic placements, its a privilege, and players still have to study hard and earn good grades to keep their place in the teams.

The NCAA don't know what or even how to deal with NIL that's why it's been left up to the schools and clearly some are not doing the right job.

Not much changed other then taking it out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Schools have been doing this for decades with boosters.


NIL feels like the straw that broke the camels back. They should of just let players form a union. Would of been easier the deal with and prevented bad actors getting their hooks into player. Some schools already had issues with sketchy boosters now its just worse.

I have always seen it as the opposite. It has allowed smaller schools to compete with the bigger schools in recruiting. More 4 and 5 stars are starting to spread out instead of them all congregating to a handful of top programs. The bigger schools by and large aren't handing out large bags to players and it is up to the players to decide themselves whether to play for a top program for less money but better coaching and development or chase the money.
