I would be for going back to the Pac12. preference would be Big10 for the former Pac teams, the new Pac and 3rd would be ACC. but unless the ACC falls apart which seems unlikely now that Clemson and FSU might be getting a slightly higher share, but also depends on ESPN picking up the next 10 year option in June.

Zags to the Pac and UTEP to the MW both at 7 full time members needing one more. Sac State got funding and might be the final Pac team.

In nightmare news the leaders of the SEC and Big10 are going to get together to talk scheduling and how to pressure the CFP into giving them both 4 AQ teams in the playoffs when the new playoffs contract begins next year.

that would be the final nail in CFB

Aren't Gonzaga joining as a non-football school still leaving the PAC short on numbers?
They were already at 7. Gonzaga is the 8th but still need a full time member.

Idiots.
Dont lock it in.

Do we want another 2011 Fiesta Bowl situation where we place an unranked team into the BCS simply because of contracts? Don't ****ing make a stupid contract in the first place!!!!

Top 4 from each?
Do they realise that both getting 4 AQ would've meant an unranked BigTen side (Would it have been Purdue, Maryland, Illinois, Iowa or Minnesota? Who knows) and the 4th SEC side (#17 LSU) would have been in the playoff in 2022 at the expense of USC/Washington under said proposal.

Not even the tv networks would've wanted that.

That's correct.

I think the Pac-12 will make another run at the AAC schools (particularly Memphis)
And as a last resort, Texas State And if the MWC can court them earlier (Doubt it, Texas State would be holding out for better until categorically told no) probably take Sacramento State (of god no)

Its not just that but they talked last year and rumor was they talked about 2 first round byes each which is all of them, or having 2 byes and then 2 host first round games even if they were not ranked higher.

4AQ would mean its just 1 wild card spot since ACC and Big12 and top G5 would also get in [or none if ND have a good year]. Surely the non power 2 members would vote against anything the SEC/Big10 put up.

Memphis already said no. and now a bunch of the AAC schools like Memphis, Tulane, USF and some others have signed an binding agreement to stay.

Sac State seem the likely one they just raised $35m in hopes of getting in. Texas State would make sense give them a footprint in Texas.

Did they actually sign?

I know the MWC schools stupidly did (short term view, if they can muster a half decent tv deal ill be shocked. Surely better than C-USA, but im not sure if anything else)

But I thought the ACC schools was more verbal.

Memphis still being courted and I hoenstly think they'll make the move.

USF no.
UTSA/Tulane? Wouldn't be shocked either way.

yeah looks like its more a verbal thing, but each school would have to pay a $30m exit fee. and Pac12 is only projecting $12m each on the next TV deal. so its also the money.

Memphis came out and said that the agreement put to them had 2 schools keep 100% of the CFP payouts [sounds like it was Oregon St and Washington St] but if that was taken out any the American schools could find the $30m.

but also most are a long flight away from the West coast so would cost heaps in travel

I just wish we stayed how they were 4 years ago before Texas/Oklahoma moved and USC/UCLA then the Pac falling apart.

Or even go back 15 years
2009 was nearly perfect.

All it needs is Boise State --> Mountain West and Temple --> Big East
