Prediction 2024 Number changes

Not sure if we want to attempt this for 2024 until the draft is done but feel it might go something like this

11 Gresham
17 Duursma
28 McKay
34/44 Goldstein

30 and 32 are vacant would be weird for our pick 9 to get such a high number but getting Tim Watson’s 32 might work well enough.

Martin and Menzie would be the only players maybe deserving of a number upgrade but don’t see Martin wanting to have any of those other numbers and Menzie unlikely to get priority over the players brought in.

My sums dont add up lol we have currently 38 senior listed players and 4 rookies so I believe we have to wait until the mid season draft as they are on rookie deals. Your right no senior listed spots available only the rookie spots.

Post-COVID you can have 42 on senior/rookie list, barring season ending injuries or retirements (plus two Cat B). If a season ending injury occurs you can replace them in the SSP (if it happens before the cutoff) or in the MSD

To clear this confusion up check final 2023 lists on draftguru then count the players to get around the confusing way they write 6 rookies plus 2 cat b sounds like cat b is included in the listed rookies but they aren't. So 46 total players 38 maximum on senior list you can make up 46 numerous ways Sydney have 36 senior and 8 rookies plus 2 cat b. North just the stock standard 38 and 8 we have 36 senior 7 rookies 2 Cat B Adelaide have 38 senior 6 rookie 2 Cat B.

So 46 total players 38 maximum on senior list you can make up 46 numerous ways Sydney have 36 senior and 8 rookies plus 2 cat b. North just the stock standard 38 and 8 we have 36 senior 7 rookies 2 Cat B Adelaide have 38 senior 6 rookie 2 Cat B.

Eth-dog is right, the maximum is 44 players not counting inactive players. This includes 36/37/38 on the senior list, the balance up to 42 (ie 6/5/4) on the Cat A rookie list and two Cat B rookies.

The reasons some lists were over that limit for 2023 were:

• Teams could move players to the inactive list and add extra rookies in either the SSP or the mid-season draft. E.g. Sydney made McCartin and Reid inactive and picked Arnold and Buller in the mid season draft. That’s why they’ve got 46 not 44 on that draftguru page. Similarly we made Culley inactive and picked Maric, that’s why we’ve got 45.
• North and Gold Coast could have extra players due to their assistance packages.
