2024 VFL Season

The rule is crap because theirs a claus in there that says that at the AFLs discretion a player who falls outside this criteria can play in the final. It’s unlikely that the AFL will reject an application coming from a AFL club to play an ineligible player.
The x player has been injured all year. Can we play him. That’s why there’s discretion. Like the old local footy stories of naming players not at the ground just so they are eligible to finals

Really there’s just got to be some common sense about it

When I was a team manager with a club in the Perth Football League a couple of years ago on the match day form, the two clubs had to confirm how many players were present "in the correct attire" at the ground for both clubs. To be included as a player, you literally had to be suited up and either on the field or sitting on the bench.

None of this crap like the bloke in the Omeo league a few years back who was sprung holidaying in Bali while being listed on a team sheet.

Southport have announced the return of Jacob Townsend who hasn't played a game at all at any level of footy in 2024 according to play HQ

Curtains on the 2024 season for Port Melbourne today?
Certainly can thank a nice contribution from the umpiring team out there today.. but the state of umpiring is the best it's ever been right? Believe even Dons coach said they were on the end of some favourable umpiring decisions post game.. when the winning coach is admitting to it, you know the umpiring was a joke

If Port were able to kick straight they might have been able to win.

In reality was over early in the season, the few wins we had gave fans false hope. Essendon were probably just a tad better but the officiating when it mattered tipped the game in their favour and once out of Ports grasp went back to normal. People may misinterpret what im saying, im not making excuses, Essendon was slightly better which brings me to the question - what does next seasons coach look for ? What type of players are we in need for to once again make Port Melbourne a power house (like we were expecting the past seasons to only to have our expectations deflated). How do we make it a reality this time ?
