Zeke Uwland - Burleigh / Broadbeach
Defender | 178cm | 24/04/2007

A born and bred Gold Coaster who is the younger brother of a Suns favourite Bodhi Uwland, Zeke is currently lighting it up for the Allies in the U18 national championships as a bottom ager and was named best on in a recent game. Some are going as far as to rate Zeke as the predicted number 1 draft pick for next year. Looks like we've got a special one on our hands here!

Pretty sure he is just Burleigh with no Broadbeach connection?
Absolutely. Has never had anything to do with Broadbeach. 100% Burleigh.
It would appear I've gone a few months early and already transferred him from Burleigh to Broadbeach like his brother did in the lead up to his draft year. You're both right in saying he's only played for Burleigh at this stage, but he will need to be transferred to a QAFL team next year and Broadbeach seems like the logical choice. Anyway, below is a 60m goal highlight from Zeke's VFL debut over the weekend while we wait for his final national championships game for the Allies against Vic Country next weekend. It's not hard to see why he's being talked about as a top 10 pick next year when he can already do that against AFL listed players as a bottom ager!

Impressive to see Zeke the Freak make the U18 AA team as a bottom ager, particularly a starting onfield position and not on the interchange. It's going to be a big 12 months for Zeke from here and some have gone as far as to say he could even be the number 1 pick next year. Let's see if he lives up to the hype.

Zeke Uwland, younger brother of SUNS AFL defender Bodhi, was named in the back pocket of the All Australian team after his first Under 18 carnival as a bottom-ager.

Uwland isn’t draft eligible until next year but has impressed in his exposure against the best young talent in the country.

It has culminated in the 17-year-old being the youngest player picked in the U18 All Australian team and the only 2025 draft prospect selected in the side.
