List Mgmt. 2025 AFL Draft

Archie Ludowyke is an interesting talent with plenty of supporters and some detractors. He started the season strongly, hitting the scoreboard regularly and getting called up to play a game for Vic Metro where he had some nice moments. His close to the season wasn't as strong, particularly struggling to impact during the Dragons finals run. He's a moments player at this stage, able to find space inside the forward 50 and hit up strongly at the ball carrier. His set shot goal kicking can be variable, and he does struggle at times with his overhead marking, tending to double grab, although he has shown an ability to clunk them when he gets it right.

Messed up the name on the thumbnail. Fun times.

Don’t imagine we’d be going tall with our early picks

it is an interesting fact... either he was ahead of the game and saw it before most, given he was deciding between cricket and AFL OR us picking him over FOS or Jagga was more of a sentimental pick given they were pretty similar in level of quality.
Lalor has a physical presence the other two don’t possess and unlikely too given their frames prob the key driver

How do you see it sregit ?
I was not overly impressed with Sharp in the U17 game at the G. Plenty of others were better. Richmond will end bottom 3 and a good chance to end last but not a certainty. I think there are 2 or 3 others that look as impressive as Sharp, so therefore I’d want to see how the U18 year develops before anointing Sharp as the Nbr 1 pick.

gonna be a great year for watching juniors even with a large cast of academy aligned players, still plenty of talent available to us. sharp is tracking like reid in that hes dominated his age group from under 16's. excited to see what he brings in his draft year without the more mature talent around him taking the spotlight. im predicting big things.

Sharp has dominated in SA. Not nationally. Let’s see if he’s dominant in U18 national games first. As I stated prior, way too early to nominate him as Nbr 1. Reid was a standout at U17s & U18s. Showed way more than Sharp. There are others who could skip past Sharp in 2025.

The problem with Sharp is similar to Horne-Francis and Reid. Touted no.1 pick 18mths out from the draft and hence they spend their last year of juniors treading water and trying to not get injured. It's common for their underage year to be of higher quality. The only time he'll fire up is if his SANFL team plays finals.

No one has been as dominate as Reid (maybe Hodge) in juniors, so the comparison is unrealistic. Sharp was every bit as dominate as any other recent no.1 apart from Reid at u16 and u17 level. He is a fair way in front at this point for no.1.

The only risk is that he is man child and hence his scope for development lower than someone like Duursma. If we finish bottom watch Port and Adel come with a treasure chest of picks for Sharp. It might well be worth trading it this year.

Sharp is pretty amazing for a kid that young. But what I have watched he is obviously physically amazing, has a really good footy brain, but often lacked composure/skills under pressure. Given what I saw was playing SANFL it's understandable he struggled with the intensity. If he can sharpen those skills there is no way you wouldn't look at him as an obvious high talent monster mid. Sometimes the man children don't take that next step at the AfL. But often they simply are stronger and more physically capable and so dominate at AFL. I'll leave it to the draft team to work that out.

Trading the pick (if #1) is a huge decision. Especially with what we have already drafted in 2024. If we can get a player who gives us a totally dominant midfield then I say go for it and hopefully have a midfield that will simply beat everyone else and all we need is that spine to be genuine conders for a decade. We've drafted that already.

But if we get a stupid trade that means we can replicate 24 again it'd be hard to walk away from that.

Psh stuff that

I’m just going to completly ignore it and somehow a week before the draft become an expert like last year

Sharp was bar far the best kid at the U16's natioanl a year or so ago... Thats as natioanl as a 16 year old can get!

Thats coming straight from somone in the Vic coaching crew

Don't know what you've been watching

Sharp is going to be better than Reid then watch Adelaide tank after they bomb early and sack the coach this year.

What is Port offer Butters and Adelaide their 2025 & 2026 1st rounders plus Soligo. Thats the sort of offers we are going to be getting.

I’ve watched plenty of juniors and try not to fire off prematurely unlike others. U18s is the final test and I’m saying let’s not anoint Sharp nbr1 until we see his performances in 2025. Sharp is an early developer and I want to see if he’s still dominant and clearly best available. A player like Rodriguez may be nbr1 by next year or Emmett and others. I’m sure Sharp will rate highly but not convinced he’s clear pick 1. FOS was supposed to be a standout but by year end any of 4 or 5 others were in the number 1 talks.

whilst I actually dont disagree with this post... this is not what you were saying previously at all.

You were saying sharp had not dominated outside of SA which was completely false.
So just because you don't fire off prematurely, don't make sh!t up to suit your argument.

But, I do agree with you, it doesn't really matter who is the current potential #1 , is it is more than lilkely to change 3-4 times in the next 10 months
