It's a toss up between him & Leake for a def bench spot. Have Paton at the moment because I assume he has better job security. Has averaged over 50 most years and pushed 60 for a couple at St Kilda. If Bice isn't sub though, may swap to him over both.

My other toss up is between Sam De Koning & Joel Freijah. No idea which way to go. The money saved from SDK can get me Murphy Reid up to Ashcroft, who despite being sub most likely I would still like. Although I have Tsatas to trade after round 2, so can get to Ashcroft or Lalor that way.

Money is tight, only have 11K left over.
Ahh fair enough. I've got Reid D6 & Prior & Trainor on bench. Not sure Prior's JS is any good unfortunately after last night, he was garbage.

I've gone Freijah for now just thinking his role will at least be consistent so will know whether to jump off or not early. SDK could be anything on any given week.

I went to remove Ashcroft but think this is different to AF, we just bench him and if he's sub again next week we can trade before he loses money.

I have Tsatas in flex, reminds me of owning Sam Berry last year lol

Is Bailey Smith "must have"? I don't have JHF and I'm concerned I'm going to get left behind. Best option to get him probably Sheezel to Clark/Holmes and Smith up. Not having Smith could get me left behind also.

To get Sanders up to JHF would have to go Sheezel to Stewart. Bloody Stewart, every year I swear never again, but keep getting sucked in, though I'm not really that keen on this one.
What's he priced at? 75? Think he outperforms that but probably closer to 90 than 100.

Won't completely burn you if you can find something better value imo but he should be a good pick. Could be a worthwhile play to try take him on at start and trade into him if he starts slow.

Geez, I'd forgotten about Berry. Had him last year too.....painful. Tsatis can score ok, but his tog would want to improve.

I've gone back to Freijah & Smith. Will have to forgo JHF. I didn't pick him originally as he's a treacherous, MG driving, mummy's boy. No grudge or anything. But can see him flying out of the gates.

As for bench rookies. It's Lindsay & Hewett vs Ashcroft & Berry (my god....another Berry). Gone the latter at the moment.

Have picked a far better team in this than AF.

Only Perryman & JHF went under price so far. Perryman easy move to SDK.

Went against my gut and fielded FOS over Levi 😒

Tsatas was complete dogshit and an easy move to Knevitt but might wait the week and just make sure as they both had a lot of CBAs and low TOG.

2134 all out. No one in this game.

SDK & Lindsay probably the priorities.
Yep, those two, plus Knevitt and Max Hall the obvious misses for me. Ironically had Hall & Lindsay in my team, but decided to bring in Allan to loop Xerri's VC score. Had a bit extra money so changed Hall to Joe Berry.

Anyway, 2181 not a bad start. Not sure how many would have started with 3 expensive rucks, but going De Koning, Xerri & Gawn in the flex position paid off this round.

Reckon it's a pretty good play that.

I think I'll be using it when Briggs & Roma bottom out I think especially if TDK is a keeper.

Not sure on Hall. Will give him another week I think. I had Lindsay all PS and Ashcroft on field 5 mins before the bounce. Was worried about Lindsay being a vest risk on Sunday.

2149 for the opener.

Overview:
Freijah was impressive but Bevo seems intent on playing him as Mr Fixit so his role was a bit of a mishmash. Cleary and O'Donnell getting injured might help with that.

Issues:
Sanders underwhelming
Perryman too defensive and just not involved
Tsatas looking shaky with very low TOG
Hastie and Paton getting subbed out early in their respective games looks ominous

On the Radar:
Lindsay, SDK, Hall,

rd1: 2121pts (top 13%)
overall: 857th

Smith + Xerri + TDK(c) + Dunkley + Dawson + O'Driscoll + Ashcroft(flx) + Camporeale(emg) = :thumbsu:
Perryman + Cleary:cryv1: + Leake + Hobbs + Garcia =

swapped out Sinn/Cumming/Callaghan for Cleary/ReidM/Dunkley at the last minute
Cleary ended up being my 23rd man... however, Dunkley netted me the extra points
Perryman is on notice... he needs to lift !!

likely trades:
Cleary needs to become SDK... this must happen !!
either Hobbs/Garcia will be downgraded to Hall... leaving me with 120k in the bank

Was happy with my start to the year. 2178 in 143rd place.
Not too many obvious corrections needed although Knevitt will probably come in for Peatling as the flex. I don't see Peatling getting as much midfield time as was first thought. I like the idea of using Briggs as flex when he bottoms out. Shame his score of 8 was in the first round rather than the third. We will only get one week of his score dropping now in the three week cycle.
I'm not convinced about Hall's js so I am staying away from that. Will spend the extra $$ and go Hewitt/Stone to Warner. Paton will be replaced by Bice but I'll wait until after the Swans' bye.
I never expected Boyd to play if Marshall was in the side so didn't select him. Marshall being a forward didn't work so I'll wait to see what St.Kilda do this week before bringing him in. May have been a safety first option with Marshall having missed the previous month hence didn't want to throw him straight into the ruck.

I'm not sure I'll trade this week. Obviously need Lindsay & Knevitt. SDK & Hall less certain. Could do one or two this week, then same next week and save a boost. But more likely nothing this week and three next week. Just to make sure the above don't flop or get injured.

I'm also reticent to jump off anyone yet. Tsatas, Sanders, Garcia, Perryman & Hollands could all be options, but I think I'll give them another week to make sure I'm trading the right one. Sanders is actually the one I'm least confident in.
