In 2025, Collingwood will enjoy both an injection of serious talent recruited in recent weeks, and the return of several important players from injury. No.1 draft pick Ash Centra is expected to take up a role at centre half-forward, rotating through the midfield, so too former Hawk Mattea Breed who offers similar assets in terms of her strength and power. Airlie Runnalls adds depth to the club's outside runners in Sarah Rowe and Tarni White, although father-daughter draftee Violet Patterson could very well wrestle her way into that place in the side. Nell Morris-Dalton's expected return from a back injury will be an important addition in attack, and Eliza James, Grace Campbell, and 2024 recruit Kalinda Howarth will have the small forward spots locked down, with Georgia Knight nipping at their heels. Because of this increasing forward depth, Lauren Butler has the potential to return to her home in defence to really solidify the line.

B: Lucy Cronin, Muireann Atkinson
HB: Lauren Butler, Ruby Schleicher, Jordyn Allen
C: Tarni White, Brit Bonnici, Sarah Rowe
HF: Eliza James, Ash Centra, Mattea Breed
F: Grace Campbell, Nell Morris-Dalton
Foll: Sabrina Frederick, Brianna Davey, Mikala Cann
I/C: Kalinda Howarth, Airlie Runnalls, Imogen Barnett, Mikayla Hyde, Alana Porter

Depth: Violet Patterson, Georgia Clark, Georgia Knight, Annie Lee, Carly Remmos, Selena Karlson, Kellyann Hogan, Amber Schutte, Charlotte Taylor

Who is under threat? Eliza might want to start to do more before her spot becomes under threat. Porter?

That whole bench is basically filled with forwards....

Centra CHF?

With her height. She's rotate between mid and forward, similar to Breed.

Dave, I wouldn't think of her a typical CHF as in smashing packs etc .... I reckon Jen is about right, and she'll float up through the guts and rotate around. Her highlights show though she's got really strong hands above her head, and quick with a pass to a leading target and her best plays are when she's on the move, so realistically over time, she'll be an on baller.

Interesting write up. Some of it makes sense, some of it time will tell. IMO I really like Butler down back with Ruby, but I'm not sure of putting all of eggs in the one basket by having Jordy there too. I think we need more game day maturity up forward coz although the next season on paper the magnets look waaaay better, we need game and a steady head experience, so I'd have Bri and Jordy doing very big cameos up forward.

EJ is an interesting one and same with Porter too. EJ looked such a promise when she first came onto the scence didn't she but hasn't gone the trajectory we all thought. Last season was a shocker, so I think we just put last season behind us, and she (along with everyone else) works on basic fundamental kicking, and in her case if you're a forward it's taking set shots ... and also getting separation too, which is a by product of a forward line that had no clue, but also it takes an individual doing the work early to get that separation. Last season it just seemed she had someone on her tail every single time.

re: Porter. I like her but perosnally she just aint a forward. I get the idea of having her as a pressure small forward but it's been 2 seasons now and I've never ever liked it. Personally she's a tagger. Lots of run, tough as, quick off a step and tenacious but IMO best served doing shut downs or role based plays.

Great to see Nell Morris-Dalton back too. Great looking kick, and a local Fitzroy product (IIRC) ... but man, I hope her repeat efforts and 2 way has improved.

Breed 100% plays in the guts. It's the reason why she's coming to the Pies. I wouldn't even think twice about it. Bri as I mentioned gets more fwd cameo time, we really need her on the park.
