I reckon we should be making the game harder so i like all the byes. Its become to easy double chances at Captain pick and so forth look at the farward line this year everyone will have the identical one from the start. I'm for making it harder limit the trades no loop holes sure there could be a few other things they could do to make it harder.
Agree with you - generic teams is taking the fun out of it - then add all these podcasts and experts and site features and it loses it's early challenges and delights. Wait til the Classic site goes under a whole new re-write next season - will it be harder, goodness knows, but I'm tipping it will be even more vanilla before long as well.
I'm ok with the number of trades and loopholes but it would be good to see the salary cap decreased. Make people choose which rookies and mid-pricers to roll with rather than throw them all in.

Not necessarily the right place

but honestly dropping back to something like 40 trades for entire year and rookie prices going up substantially for top 10 picks.. ie Pick 450 or 500k with a 10k drop per pick. Pick 1 500k, Pick 6, 450k, pick 10 430k would move teams.

Then also reducing the 30% discount ect for players that have missed a year. Coleman, Baz, Docherty ect all will come back so well like others have post 12 months. Give them 20% discounts, sure theyre all picked again but it tightens the belt

At the moment were at the number 1 side having 25 premiums come end of season if they wanted, where i feel it should be 22

I’ve had McKercher thinking he could have good upside at a sub premium price

Looked at his kick ins on DFS last night and it seems his big scoring games he had a monopoly on kick ins and got me concerned that may not be sustainable

More than happy for him to get the first +6

If Kiddy Coleman doesn’t get up, what is your plan B?
Wait till 2026 season and start again

I am a huge fan of Kiddy, but would not start him. Fitness has never been his strong suit and will need some games to get into the swing of things.

He's priced at like 50 though. Even if he holds together for 5 games at 80, hes already made a bunch of money.

Lots of dead average scores mixed in with some decent ones. If hes not fit I’d worry about his cash gen. Most of those decent score are his finish to 2023, especially in the finals where he got off the leash. A lot of that year he was producing 60’s by fading in second halves (I was a keeper league owner). He’d literally be on 50 at half time and finish on 60 - seemed to happen for about half a season.

Definitely value but I don’t think it’s as full proof as a lot think. Although Brisbane changed their gameplan a bit when Zorko went back and started chipping it around a lot more which could definitely benefit him.

Starts Geelong (R0) Sydney (R1) West Coast (R2) then BYE. Seems like a better prospect after a look and a BYE. Round Zero will tell us more.

Coleman probably just comes down to his R0 if he plays. Goes well lock him and his double price rise in. Goes 50 and mad scramble to find someone else.
Yeah, and key phrase is "if he even plays".
So much laid against him, just see him as an opportunity, if he plays R0.
Plan for something else now is the wise move.

With all the fantasy relevant stats to become mainstream in recent years, this is one I’m surprised hadn’t joined the club with CBA & kick in. Woukd be interesting to analyze that
Yep, there a few players who work to receive that first kickout pass and it's more valuable than the kickout itself (unless it was when the Goldy had their kicker run and receive like Flanders did for a bit)

Yeah if a player had a high number of 1st receiver stats and moved on/changed role we’d all be analyzing the opportunity that created

Give and get kick in also would be decent stat

I think you can bank on most teams having one of their elite users in the first two kicks coming out of defence. Would be a good stat to have for ease sake, but think it would be fairly easy to work out going through the best 22 of each team.

Not so sure.

You could also say the same about any stat that’s recorded and sometimes they back up what you feel and often not.

Crows for example tend to go long from kick ins a lot. Other teams short more often.

This would show up in the stats as the “reciever” number would only be recorded when kick In leads to a possession do a club like crows may have less recieves relative to kick ins. And maybe higher number of talks in there as taking the mark from long kicks.

I’d also challenge you on best couple of players being the reciever. I feel like often when crows go short it’s to a pocket and it’s a defender taking it, not a Dawson or rankine.

There’s no way it would be acurate to simply be looking at the list and saying Bont is the best bulldog, they must kick it to him from kick ins and that be a strong source if his scoring.

Lots that the stat could tell you about a team and individual players role in the kick in.

Sorry, I meant in context of best kicks in defence, not the team.

The long down the line kick is used by all teams, but ultimately gets used if their first kick option isn't on more often than not.

And if it is used more for the worse teams (because nobody uses it as a plan A if they have to) then think you'd see the best kicker will often take the kick-out.
