Do we have any fantasy stats where Maric played back? I didn’t watch much WCE games and unsure whether he had stints there throughout last year
Sharing kick ins with Gov apparently, although our fantasy points as a whole will take a dive with the new gameplan so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

Only problem I can see is if we select all these low priced eagles - Hutchinson, Allan, Maric, Hewett - is there a sub risk for these guys? They play the last game of round 1, so there's likely no one to move to if they're the sub.

Well, there can only be one of them a Sub :drunk:

Hugo Garcia getting a lot of praise on saints board with expectations pointing to a spot in their midfield

Who can shed light on him and scoring potential in the role?

A decent follower of the Saints on Twitter (for what that's worth) indicated he'd likely start Centre based on games he's watched. Still a mid when all is said and done. He is very good around the stoppages.

At 421k forward he surely needs to be considered priced at 40 if he’s a starting mid but I know nothing about him

Had some early injury problems which stymied his development a bit - been very good at VFL at Sandy when he played there, racking up some healthy fantasy scores - Richmond VFL saw him with the ball a lot ;) :

So long as Garcia avoids vests (had a heap of them last year) then he’s a very easy pick. I don’t know the Saints well enough to know if he’s a bit further ahead in the pecking order this season.

Feel like Maric will be safer in that regard.

More astute than your Daicos comments - pecking order is his challenge, but Dow is gone for a while, the Poo also, he's more than a sneaky chance to get some chances, and when you watch him play you'll understand why. Toot, toot!

I’m well acquainted and liked what I saw last year. Only thing that concerns me is that the Saints were equally ravaged by injury most of last season and it still didn’t help him get many full games, so there is risk there. Has had an extra year to develop now though.

That’s some nice scoring potential.

Interesting one to watch pre season and ultimately to decide if he’s one to consider if one better to watch rd 1 and jump on if he shows it all for real

Definitely a little colder on Hutch being so new to the level. (Not that Allan isn't "newer" but at least he is rookie priced)

Hearing a lot of names pop up so we'll have plenty of cheapies to pick from.

I'll take anyone that looks like they can put up a score and make coin.
The trick avoiding those rookies who make $1-$15k and sit on your bench because they're too cheap to cash in and waste a trade.

Lynch concussed at training. Without having followed his career too closely, has he had a number of concussions previously?

Bang on - seemed to avoid one week wonders last season, but my teams had a history of being a home for wayward boys!

If he's getting wing time, some mid minutes potentially without Yeo there, he should touch 70? I was watching when he got that 60 point half playing midfield against the Cats (god knows why...) and thought he should be value for this year. If Garcia is tearing it up though it's a pretty easy switch to him.

What happens if you get to the last game of the round and say Allan is named sub an hour pre-game and you have no one to trade him to? Tanks cash gen immediately.

I'd back in Allan to play, but like any player, he could be subbed out

Eagles wings have been awful for scoring for years now, basically since Gaff. Harley Reid went at 67 playing basically exclusively mid.

Wing + some CBAs could easily be a 45 at the Eagles too

Forward line still looking predictable-ish with no Phillipou.

Macrae, B.Smith and Daniel still appear locks at this stage. As does Hewett.

Which leaves 2 vacant spots, and the following players typically in consideration

1. Paying up for JHF
2. The high end mid priced players in M.Kennedy, Simpkin, Sanders
3. The lower end mid priced players in Maric, Silvagni, Hutchinson, J.Martin
4. Having more than 1 rookie on the ground.

I think I will fill the two spots with 1 player from category 2 and one from category 3. Although if I have money spare, I might grab JHF instead of the category 2 players.

I wasn’t set on having a player priced higher than Macrae, the poo news solidify that for me (and it’s rankine I’m keen on). I did have this in place before his injury thiugh

My preferred structure now looks 2 on field fwd rookies but sanders, Garcia the ones I’m watching most closely in that f5 slot as alternatives

Anyone else stuck in a Sanders/Kennedy situation?
Doesn't help bevo scares me and probably plays one back pocket. Kennedy is more proven and we know he can score, but Sanders is 200k less and has all the potential. That 200k could turn a mid priced into a premo.

In before we start Sanders and he's on 80 at half time round 1, and gets tactical subbed

Sanders had 30 & 3 yesterday I saw on Twitter.

They have to play him surely. From memory they traded up to get the kid and he will be out of contract next year I'd imagine.
