I'd rather save $150k and go with a spring chicken in Peatling.
All players are on pre season watchlists of course.
All to be scrapped by round 0 high score Inclusions.
Ashcroft for a little more? Fair bit of competition for him but surely they start handing the reigns over and there’s upside on an 84 average. Age, plays for a good side, and just won a Norm Smith

I've got Ashcroft (both)
Makes my midifeld look a little weak with Peatling there too, but DEF solid with three over a mil, Holmes D4, Coleman D5,
Set and forget rucks,
Stock standard forward line that most have, but Ryan Maric instead of Macrae as I think there's good upside in Maric's role this year (priced low 40's)

Entire side can be swapped for a Hilux winning side at the drop of a hat. I'm not set on anyone this year.

Who’s job is Maric taking? I did see he’s half back but he’s 196cm so a version of Luko?

Yeah eyeing off Maric too. Wonder if he’s in line for some kick ins? Juicy role but change in gameplan has me a little wary of WC players. Richmond were the worst fantasy side in the league playing like this years ago.

Don't mind the Maric shout. I'm going to wait until preseason to see how he and Ginbey look but it should be a great play if Mini likes him back there.

Doch is just a fantasy guru and I think his price is too cheap to ignore. Even if he’s named C it’s juicy. He loves +6 and Carlton love it in his hands.
Just checked his stats and he's scored under his priced at figure (76) three times in the past four years, averaging 100+ the whole time. He's a jet. If he's fit he has to be in. He's this year's Nick Martin.

Got him too. Huge value there I reckon.

Green, Ashcroft, Oliver, Doc, Day and Peatling all scream value to me in the mids.
Taranto, Rozee, Trac, Richards, Cumming all decent too.

At this point it's more hoping/trying to create a new role to utilise his kicking.
Creativity and good ball use from half back is something we haven't had since Jetta and Wirrpunda.
Gov has been a great kick, but plays deep. We need more than bombing to the boundary with our kick ins.
Watch and see with the new game plan but he was getting better as the year went on. (L5 is/was 12+ pts above his low average)
Don't think he'll be sub as often.

I had Z.Duursma there at first but had spare money.

There's definitely some upside in Maric even without the extra +6's, it's the link up that could make him a worthwhile pick.

Who are you paying up for in the backline out of curiosity? Not sure I really like any of the 1m guys aside from maybe Sheezel but more as a safe ton than any sort of value.

Whitfield and Flanders early bye. Zorko too old to be starting with. Martin new role?

Newman, Ryan, Sinclair, NWM all huge question marks with role/scoring consistency over a full season to consider them as a starting pick.

Holmes is going to either be D1 or 2 for me pending what I do about Sheezel

Sheez/Whit/NWM
Holmes/Coleman/Travaglia
(El-Hawli/Bazzo) Just $230k placeholders.

Not too fussed with Whitfields early bye but would like to avoid them if better options pop.

I've always found it easier to make money in the midfield so at this point, I'm skimping there.

Looking at shadow cat side, if all went to plan, there could be a very high number of keepers there. Counted high teens iirc. (Top 10fwd/back etc)
Mine would be low teens at best I think.
Just need the likes of Caleb Daniel, Pou, Ashcroft and hopefully Peatling to AVG 90 or more.

Done. Don't like any of my players so there's that. Not a bad thing as usually get too attached to certain guys.
Team or it didn’t happen

Cheers for the shout out, very different sort of year this year...so I think there's a lot of value worth considering.

Point in case, this may be the first 0 rookie side I've ever experimented with, that I didn't hate:

AFLTeam (3).png

Brayshaw as perma captain

I just think atleast 3 rookies in starting mids is a lock with Jagga Levi and Sid. There could well be 4 with Langford i expect to play and score ok

Im definitely considering

Roma, Xerri and Langford (4th rookie mid) = 290 + 5 Captain = 295

Over

Cerra, TDK, S.Darcy
= 290
