Fixture 2025 Fixture Released

Good:
11 games at the G
Play Eagles, North, Bombers all twice
Only play one of this year's top-4 teams twice (Port)

Bad:
Travel 6 times (5 without GR included)
Travel twice to Perth
Play both Adelaide teams in Adelaide

Pretty bloody good fixture to be honest, not much to complain about. Would've liked 1 fewer interstate game, however you can't win them all. At least 80% of them are in neighbouring states.

Love the extra game at the G - huge for us.

Go blues :thumbsu:

Play Carringbush, Essendon, Port, Hawthorn, West Coast and Norf twice.

Rd 1: Richmond (a) MCG, Thu. Great way to start. Tigs will showcase their youngsters. Need to put them to the sword.
Rd 2: Hawthorn (h) MCG, Thu. Hope Hawks start same way as last year! They will be on a 6-day break.
Rd 3: Dogs (h) Marvel, Fri. Not ideal venue, but this is only home Marvel match we play v Marvel specialists.
Rd 4: Pies (a) MCG, Thu. 6-day break, Pies had a bye in rd 3. Not ideal.
Rd 5: Weagles ('h') Adelaide, Sat. Neutral venue, Weagles have 6-day break. Need to win big.
Rd 6. Norf (a) Marvel, Fri. Both sides on 6-day break. Don't let them get a sniff.
Rd 7. Cats (h) MCG, Sun. Big test.
Rd 8. Cows (a) Adelaide, Sat. 6-day break and travel. Danger game. Find this schedule annoying (Fri-Sun-Sat).
Rd 9. Saints (a) MCG, Fri. Back-to-back 6-day breaks less than ideal, but a Saints home match at the 'G is good.
Rd 10. Syd (a) SCG, Fri. SCG again! Will be tough. Sydney on 6-day break.
Rd 11. GWS (h) Marvel, Sat. Need to win this.
Rd 12. BYE
Rd 13. Ess (h) MCG, Sun. What's the deal with a Sunday match after a bye?
Rd 14. Weagles (a) Perth, Sun. Need to make most of second game for the year vs Weagles.
Rd 15. Norf (h) MCG, Sat. 6-day break after Perth trip isn't great, but an MCG match vs Norf is welcome.
Rd 16. Port (a) Adelaide, ?? Third trip to Adelaide for the year.
Rd 17. Pies (h) MCG, ??.
Rd 18. Brions (h) Marvel, ??
Rd 19. Dees (h) MCG,??
Rd 20. Horks (a) MCG, ??
Rd 21. Freo (a) Perth, ??. Second Perth trip for the year, and sixth interstate match.
Rd 22. GC (h) Marvel, ??
Rd 23. Port (h) Marvel, ??
Rd 24. Ess (a) MCG, ??

Overall. Not bad. 2 matches v Hawks, Port, Pies, Weagles, Norf, *. Six interstate trips. Don't like the yo-yo'ing between Thursday and Sunday matches - 5 x 6-day breaks (so far). Though no 5-day breaks at least (after this year). Want to get at least 2 wins out of the Hawks-Dogs-Pies run early in the season to set us up.
Great stuff Bletch, really enjoyed and appreciate the work and comments in breaking down each round, particularly with the game day breaks

Anyone complaining about our fixture really just can’t be pleased.

Kisses on the d… big time.

Love it.

Try living in Queensland. Think we can complain. Hope there will be a pre season camp at least.

Some classics from the MB Fixture thread :tearsofjoy:

Carlton making finals and then getting an easier draw than North is certainly a statement by the AFL.

Carlton getting gifted finals again I see

Carlton getting the AFL's biggest blowjob

Carlton and Geelong get a 'walk-to-finals' draw again. How do they get easier draws than some of the non-finals teams?

The Carlton and Geelong bias is out of control

AFL fixturing department doing all the heavy lifting for Carlton again, it has to eventually pay off, right? Right? Surely.

AFL should schedule Carlton a few VFL teams for the 4 points next year if they stuff up another easy draw.

Not a bad fixture!! If there’s any gripes it’s copping the usual wintery Friday night mid season clash against Sydney that is primely set up to derail our season…like feeding us to the wolves.. hope we can buck the trend!
