I remember Laurie’s draft highlights. Ok yes all draftees have nice highlights. But he had a real nice sidestep and could carry the ball and deliver inside 50 or kick a goal. That was the COVID draft and if you look at the players picked after him there wasn’t too many hits.

That draft in general has been awful.

Really surprised we have Laurie a new deal, the club must see something there.

Yep wasn’t many hits. We really wanted Holmes too. Pitty he didn’t get to us. I do rate Bowey. Busting his shoulder in round 0 last year ruined his year.
Essendon with three potential busts in the top 10 is stuff of nightmares. Although Perkins could make it. Cox I’m not convinced of and Reid is just always injured.

Managed to injure ACL, PCL and MCL, pretty horrific.

Fractured hand for Hore, too.

Horrible for AMW. Looked almost a lock for round one. And poor old Marty Hore. Gets a lot of injuries.
Listening to the Chaplin post game presser today and mentioned Windsor might play 3 quarters next week. That was a relief as I spoke to someone who has an involvement at Casey and he heard murmurs of season ending possibly Achilles injury. However seems that was incorrect.

and we're unable to add anyone on to the list until mid-season is that right?
At this stage yes. We’ll have to wait until MSD. However I suspect Melbourne and Carlton will rally to change that as we played our games after SSP closed. But realistically you can get injuries at any time.

Embarrassing for the AFL really. 2 season ending injuries for players at clubs who played after the deadline, while other clubs could play before the deadline. Sure, injuries could happen anytime. But surely it's not that hard to see the issue here. Why can't the SSP close a day after the final practice games are played? Players are literally at the club that select them the next day and training within days at the club. Why does it always take something like this to happen for the AFL to actually do something lol.

Seems total nonsense from the AFL. Not sure how they don’t see these things in advance. Tomorrow should have been the deadline.

Who gives a shit lol, if he'd done it tomorrow in training would that be fair then? We've had multiple chances to take the 1200th available player in the competition

You literally can't pick the player up until you have a spot open with a long term injury, the point is the cutoff date should be after ALL the practice games.

So if the practice games finish and then a guy does his ACL first training session after that just bad luck? It's a bit of a sook really.

You're arguing for the sake of arguing again, buf I actually think there should be no cutoff date for these types of things. If you're going to set one just before round 1 is the logical time.

Agree the original date they set was just arbitrary.

A momentous win for the sooks

lol how is wanting a game that’s equal sooking?

Even the AFL is acknowledging this isn’t equal but we have chumps in here wanting to let this type of shit fly.

If we can bring in Culley he hopefully will **** off Sparrow from the 1s.
