They normally get released in the lead up to Christmas. Last year they were officially announced on the 5th of December. Will ask around and see what I can find out. The players will have their lockers already.

Why not? It's not uncommon for draftees to get a guernsey number in the 20s.

It's not exactly common and we have two new imports in Battle & Barrass to outfit first. One of them could get the 20 or 21 but I agree with streetspirit, a feeling that HH will be moved up.

It's not super uncommon either. Sic, Hodge, Ward, Mackenzie, Crawf, Issie, etc. For sure, there's more who don't than do, but there's enough for it to not be "No way".

From last year, it appears the process is that:
- New recruits get to choose their numbers from what is available.
Battle and Barrass will get the choice of 20, 21, 24, 37, 41, 43 and 44

-Current players looking for an upgrade then may get a choice.

- Then the draftees get to choose from what's left.

24 is certainly worth having past players vote on, Battle and Barrass both good options.

I assume it will be around when the Xmas training is (Dec 7) they usually announce it then and then over that weekend offer free number pressing on guernseys…. Side note but hopefully they announce the herritage or clash guernsey before then aswell

Last couple of years they’ve been announced before the Xmas training. That seems to have been a Clarko era thing - some posters were always a bit miffed that other clubs had named their numbers already and since Mitchell has had the helm there’s been more socials engagement around the numbers.
