Taking Bolton, drafting Reid and Nicholls and Carr has set us up for a really interesting 2025 trade and draft period.

We currently have a first, second and two thirds to play with from 2025, all picks for 2026 and 2027

Possible trades: Chad Warner, Kozzie Pickett

Possible NGA players: Toby Whan and Basil Hart. What sort of players are they?

Possible delisting/retirements: Michael Walters, Nat Fyfe, Aish, Jones, Reidy, Worner and then do we look further at O’Meara, Brodie for early pay outs.

Chrystal ball: 2026, how good is Robinson? If he projects as top a 10 bull mid, does that affect a trade for Warner? Does it shift the focus to Pickett

Players to consider on top of Pickett and Warner.

Bobby Hill - I think he would be a good get, regardless if we get Pickett or not.
Brandon Starcevich - free agent
Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - he would be perfect for us.

2026
Ed Allan

If we get Pickett, not sure we could justify the price of Hill. I know smalls are topical here now, but like every position, there is a limit given the salary cap and draft capital.

Would love the other two even if NWM is a complete pipe dream. Might as well put Daicos on there with that one.

Ed Allan would need to do something at AFL level first.

A good VFL year, and I would bring him back on low cash.

He has been talked up highly on the Collingwood board, and we need more players who can play on the wing.
We talk up 95% of our players here. People had Stanley down for AA blazers.

They spent a 1st rounder on him, they need him to be good. I'll believe it when I see it.

He is getting good stats on the back end of the year in the VFL. If he can keep those numbers this year, then he is worth a look.

Need to having a closer look at his skills, to ensure he can hit a target.

Could you play two genuine wingers any more?

Anyway, we will see how he develops. Hopefully we are in his ear, so if he improves a lot he already has 1 foot out the door.

He's WA so I am sure Walls and co would be aware of him.

Knowing how often Pickett changes his mind, and the fact he is contracted.

I think you would need to chase both. Would be interested to know how clubs do this.

How late can clubs change their mind etc

Yeah, jeez he’d be handy though..great Ryan replacement.

Starcevich is a lock down defender who usually plays on the oppostion's most dangerous small (e.g. Papley in the GF). Averages 12 touches, 4 marks and 3 R50's. Ryan goes at 24 touches, 9 marks and 7 R50's. They are very different players.

I would view Starcevich as taking Walker's role, and then Walker can move into Wagner's role.

Pickett is also better than Hill. I think Hill is in Schultz's class rather than the top end smalls. Still good, but not amazing.

In any event, I wouldn't get invested. We've already had two chances to get him and not been interested either time.

The bidding should be interesting if it unfolds like that. It's going to cost a lot more points.
Big test of the new system. Also can't wait for Whan to be rated 20-30 then SOS bids on him at 5 followed by Uwland at 6
