If you have a ruckmen get injured you don’t need a ruckmen as flex to cover, any player could cover doesn’t matter if it’s defender, mid or forward

Right, it's why if Jackson isn't a great option and no other forward rucks present themselves, then maybe a R/D rookie might be betterHaving a bit of trouble getting my head around this flex thingy and how a lot on here are going for a Ruck as flex....
Bear with me here....as a few bevvies are starting to take effect....hic!
I have Maxy R1 Marshall R2 and 102K R/F as R3.......with English Flex
1. If English doesn't play.......I move R3 to flex and then a Fwd to replace him at flex
2. If Gawn or Marshall doesn't play......R1/2 goes to R3....flex to R1/2, R3 to flex and replaced by Fwd at Flex
I would have thought replacing Flex with a Def or Mid would be a better scoring option than a FWD......am I doing this right?
You don't but you would still need to trade out the ruckman because without a trade, you are either swapping him with one of your two playing rucks, or your R3. Could mean you end up with a non scorer in the flex position. If you have a ruckmen get injured you don’t need a ruckmen as flex to cover, any player could cover doesn’t matter if it’s defender, mid or forward

Everyone needs to understand, you can't swap a ruck with a mid in the flex position, because you can't move the ruck to the mid bench which is not allowed.
I like the idea of an additional ruck in the flex position because of their scoring ability, but someone with mid/fwd or mid/def dpp might be the way to go early on.
3. Put a M/F into flex and then swap with a MidHaving a bit of trouble getting my head around this flex thingy and how a lot on here are going for a Ruck as flex....

I think most of us are also trying to get our head around thingsHaving a bit of trouble getting my head around this flex thingy and how a lot on here are going for a Ruck as flex....

Yeah I get this, but the flexibility is what I'm keen on. Because if a ruck gets injured it means you can also just slot your flex into R2 and your injured ruck can become any fallen premo. You don't have to trade them for another ruck kent that gets injured a few weeks later, keeping you stuck on the merry-go-round.If you have a ruckmen get injured you don’t need a ruckmen as flex to cover, any player could cover doesn’t matter if it’s defender, mid or forward
Best 22 will influence strategies, and so many best 18 weeks …. with the flex giving us an extra player in best 18 weeksYeah I get this, but the flexibility is what I'm keen on. With DPP, forwards, defenders, and mids are so much easier to cover without DPP. Whereas good Ruck/FWD options have been limited the past couple of years, particularly when Jackson is stuck playing second fiddle to Darcy.

Thanks. Starting to get the picture, I think ........ M/F or a D/M into flex and swap with either line....or a Premo Ruck and be able to swap with M/F.3. Put a M/F into flex and then swap with a Mid

It's not the F7Or Def via like 5 swaps
I think the question comes down to which player will score better
D7, F7, M9 or R3
It's not the F7
Looking at the stats on the SC site (which I'm not sure are 100% correct) the M9 has out scored the R3 the last few years.ain’t that the truth.
And F6 may as well be a cheapie cash cow, even more so than usual.Looking at the stats on the SC site (which I'm not sure are 100% correct) the M9 has out scored the R3 the last few years.
It will probably come down to who is the best value when you are looking to fill the spot. But either mid or ruck is likely.

Easy strategy this year.
1. Ignore much of the SC talk until the team picker opens.
2. Team picker opens, have a little play with it.
3. Don't play with it too much,it will fall off,I will go blind,I will just end up confusing myself.
4. Watch and enjoy the pre-season games.
5. Select N. Daicos. Play with it a little more (the team, of course. Ahem).
6. Select the rest of the team using the final few Herald-Sun articles, and by following the herd here.
7. Win Supercoach and enjoy the cash and female attention that comes with it.
